In response to that description, SOPA has been pulled by it's owner. It's dead, we all won.

It's the fifth time or so somepony has tried to pull an S.978, SOPA, or PIPA on us. (If you catch my drift here) The US is slowly turning into a police country. The whole SOPA thing there is kind of a joke, since at this point none of those things will pass.

I agree entirely, although I wouldn't generalise it to the entire government, I mean Obama stood against SOPA, despite the significant pay off he'd receive if he backed it up. It's mostly just the greedy politicians looking to undercut each other.
