Description
This is a tribute to my favorite scene in one of my favorite movies. ♥
I went to see X-Men: Days of Future Past on May 22, 2014 (the day it was released in Russia), absolutely loved it and bought the DVD as soon as it became available. Since when I saw it twice – on November 22 (exactly half a year later) and the day before yesterday/yesterday (depending on where you’re), and I still like it very much. =^__^=
Now, what I`d like to tell you regarding my favorite moment in this movie. (Um, beware slight spoilers if you haven`t seen it?) This is one of the rare occasions when I like the translation even more than the original.
In that scene Magneto says: “All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles. To have a precious few of them back…”, but in the Russian dub (which I saw in the movie theatre, therefore my first impression of the movie and this scene in particular was strongly influenced by it) he says: «Столько лет мы угробили на противостояние, Чарльз. И тем дороже несколько лет без вражды». So, instead of “To have a precious few of them back…”, it’s something along the lines of:
«This makes the few years [spent] without fighting [each other] all the more precious».
Hopefully, this tidbit of information explains the title.
Thanks for reading&viewing! ^_^
