That is what we call an interesting family history.

Actually, what really happened was that--being that demons are basically immortal (your father Trigon may have been destroyed on Earth, but all that did was just banish him back to the 8th gate of Hell from whence he came, what being the 8th devil and the spawn of a demon god and a mortal human and all, just as you were spawned from him and your human mother, Angela "Arella" Roth)--your brothers (each a representation of 6 of the 7 Deadly Sins, with you as the Sin of Pride) tried to pull a Ghostbusters involving you and Beast Boy (in the roles of gatekeeper and key master that Dana Barrett and Tully played in the smash 1984 film), with Trigon in the role of Gozer (Gozer the Conquer first was summoned as The StayPuft Marshmellow Man before appearing as a Michael Jackson-like deity with a raspy voice).
What's ironic about this is that "Garfield" is Beast Boy's first name AND both the people who played self-professed ladies man Dr. Peter Venkman in the Ghostbusters films/videogames and The REAL Ghostbusters cartoon (comedian Billy Murray for the films/videogames [ www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5LFtu… ] and late voice character-actor Lorenzo Music for the cartoon [ www.youtube.com/watch?v=odQnYI… ]) ALSO played the Monday-hating, pasta-loving tabby cat created from Jim Davis' comic strip (Lorenzo voiced the 2D-animated Garfield in Garfield and Friends [ www.youtube.com/watch?v=Caq8bn… ] while Bill voiced the character as done in realistic CGI for the two Garfield films).
