Thank you for all the love X//D I just couldn't help it because I spent the whole beginning sequence feeling so excited at seeing all the familiar faces (or drawings, in a sense) then the locket opened and I saw Maxim's portrait and from then on everything got so tragically lovely that I couldn't help tearing up. It was like the introduction sequence for a television program. (And if this was a TV show I would watch it RELIGIOUSLY.)

Although I have to admit that when I watch this (I just had to re-watch it out of love) that I kind of imagine Alan telling the true story of his past to someone who comes to stay with him in his house. (And now the image of that being us, along with Vitto, will not fade.)
I can just imagine the three of us (Vitto, you, and me) watching it while gripping at the pillows/popcorn bowl and shouting at the characters on the screen XD
And yes! Except now I really have to watch Downtown Abbey (it's been stalking me) O.O

Well, ok, I won't even say how much I'm astonished once more by your mind-reading abilities X///D ... I have the feeling Alan senses that death is coming. Not much because of some physical issues, it's more like he lets himself die after he just loses everything, his family, his true love and his life, in the social meaning.
So he needs to tell somebody, pass the baton, dictate his moral will. And the one he wants is Allie <3 In this AU, Cal just doesn't want to have anything to do with his father (he won't marry, nor believe in love after that, - Jeff belongs to another AU XΒ°D -) and Allie wants to know him, because she really remembers very little about Alan, after Fanny kicked him out of their house and their lives :C So yeah, he will tell her all the truth ;_;

Very snuggable D: Alan broke my heart with the idea of being "forever alone" (and that I finally understood the sad piece with him hugging his little children). I just wanted to hug Allie for what she must have gone through, but at the same time be proud of her for deciding to go face her father, despite what he might have done. I really felt horrible for Cal, though. It's like he received the exact opposite view on love that Alan did from his parents, something that I can imagine Alan feeling incredibly guilty about.

... Just break the angst feeling x///D... but it doesn't last DDDD: Well, yeah, I guess it's his destiny, at least some sort of penance for hurting his family, although he didn't want to ;_; (And yeah, that piece is all related to this D: )
Allie was just a baby when Alan was gone, so I guess she "suffered" a bit less than Cal or Fanny, who went through that completely concious. She just wants to see Alan one time, just one, at least to hear HIS truth ;_; Cal doesn't even want to hear his name instead. He was young, but not so much to not understand what was going on, so he just assisted to the fights, the tears and the slammed doors, and remembers everything of it ;_;
And yeah, surely Alan can't forgive himself for this. But in this universe, he didn't have such a happy youth himself neither, his relationship with Vincent is much more controversial here. When he was a child, he was the spoiled and cuddled baby we all know, surrounded by the love of his parents. But during his youth, him and Vincent fought a lot. Alan just acted like a ruleless bohemien, and Vincent couldn't stand it. And they'll stay cold to each other for a long time D:

That's so incredibly sad D: Although at least he gets to repent in some way when it comes to his daughter.
Oh, poor babies! Divorces are never easy on the children, especially if they're conscious enough to remember what it was like to see what lead up to it. Since the children stayed with Fanny, Cal probably bonded with her more too and resented what Alan had done to hurt her. Allie is more like how I was when it came to my dad (although my brother was the same way too).
