Description
The wonderful RoxMccree commissioned me to draw her a husbando for a pre-existing character. I didn't even notice that her commission actually fitted in perfectly with mer-may until my boyfriend pointed it out ^^° . I was very free in this design, i basically had the parameters: Mermaid, King, darker skin tone. So I decided to go for a bit of a lion-fish inspired form, but streamline all stripes so it would fit better with the very modern looking, already existing character. However, I thought if I'd just take the Lions colour palette too he might look kinda boring, so I instead opted for a more purple-ish tone for the royal purple-ness, and accentuate that with soft yellow gradients to put some interest into the design. Also i thought it harmonized very well with his gold ornaments. I tried to keep the big ones (His tail guards, his shoulder guards and his crown) mostly very streamline with sharp edges and an overall rather clean design again as to fit in with the already existing design, but I broke away from that a bit for the earring and the wrist wraps simply because it felt fitting to make them a bit more roundish. It also, I felt, resonated with the pearls I worked into his crown and his wrist wraps.

Anyway, I hope you like this as much as I do, and as much as roxx told me she liked it and if you want to commission me, my commissions are always open! (well, until my slots are filled)
