An illustration of a Nautilus for a Biology project. We're going to have a presentation of a creature of our choice, explaining systematics, digestion, respiration, circulation, reproduction and so on. Naturally I chose the Nautilus for the presentation, because it has always fascinated me and I think it would be very boring to study an animal that is too close to humans. I had sooo much fun with this, both learning about it and drawing it. I also have an illustration with its inner anatomy, drawn on top of this one.

So much tests, presentations and essays for the coming weeks..!

Easily a childhood favorite animal, these little guys are so fascinating! This piece is so beautiful, it's solid, rich and the colors are calming. The Nautilus stands out against the background very nicely, too! I still love watching them move through the water, it's so cute how they propel themselves and 'putput' around.

Wow!! I love this!! The detail is great, and I really love the way the blues and the orange/browns set each other off. Fantastic job! Plus, the nautilus is a really cool animal.
