Gift for my grandma of a deer, that I painted the last few days. Hopefully I'll become more active here again sooon.Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you'll have a really wonderful time, and that all your dreams and hopes for New Year may come true.

Reminds me of some awesome, cosmic cervid! All those little flecks of white remind me of stars. Couple that with the nebulous background, and blam! Cosmic! 
The eyes are so pretty and glistening. I also really like the details of the nose, the neck fur (especially in the shadows), and the halo of color that off-sets the deer from the background.

Also, do you have any tips to drawing deer noses? >.> I can't seem to get it right!

Oh, I struggle so much with deer noses, all I can say is use lots of references! xD

I would instantly love this, just because its a deer, but I love the atmosphere you've created in this piece! Like the world just stops for a second, before it starts running again. The colours and the deer is so calm and peaceful, and I love the tiny white spots of paint! (how did you do that?!

I make the splatters simply by pulling the hairs of a paintbrush back and releasing it. It usually makes a real mess, haha
