Description
Emily was such a sweet girl, She would help her mom in the kitchen and do laundry. She was only 7 but was very confident that she could help with anything. Her mom was a housewife who did work as a babysitter when someone had to go on a business trip and couldn't take their kid along. Emily's dad would show up from work late at night and if Emily was still up, he would sit by her bed and read her favorite story Radiance. The book was about a girl who had gone to heaven and became friends with other angels. She wasn't a normal kid in the eyes of the public though. They found her strange, Maybe it had to do with what she wears. Emily had light brown hair and her eyes were 2 different colors. Her left eye was a light green color and the right eye was a ghostly white color. She would wear a dark red hoodie backwards so she could hide her face, the hoodie had 2 holes in so she could see where she was going and she had outlined around the holes with a black marker, She had torn black jeans and sneakers.
Her parents understood why she hid her face and they would encourage her to embrace it. "Emily, There is nothing wrong with you. Kids won't make fun of your eyes." Her mom said with her usual cheerful voice as she and her dad sat at the table eating dinner with emily. "If I were those kids, I would envy you for having such adorable eyes." Emily's dad said trying his best to cheer her up. Emily would only take off her hoodie when she wasn't in public, so she pull the hood off her head and continued to eat.
The next day was wednesday, early release at her school. She would hang out with one friend, his name was Jack, Her imaginary friend. Emily would do her best in class and when it came to recess she would stay on the bench and watch everyone else play. Jack would be by her side even if no one could see him. A group of kids had seen Emily sitting on the bench laughing for no reason. They came up to her looking upset as if they thought Emily was laughing at them. "Whats so funny, Freak?" Said the first kid.
Emily looked up at the three kids and smiled, even though they couldn't see through her hoodie covering her face. "Jack was telling me a joke." She said with a cheerful voice. "Who the hell is Jack?" said the second kid with a giggle. "It's probably another one of her made up friends." said the third kid as the other kids laughed. "J-Jack isn't made up! He is real!" said Emily as she stood up in anger with her hands clenched into fists.
