Description

A small herd of chacoan peccary at Burger's Zoo, Netherlands

I would have pet them but there was a sign saying they were biters.

Prints and products with this design are also available on my Society6 and Redbubble.

Interesting! I don't think I have ever seen any IRL! (And yet, this is my Chinese sign...)

I thought those were wild boars but actually this is some breed of pigs?

Ohhh, or wait... actually pigs are some sub-species of boars or something! x)

*See how much of a non-expert I am*

Thanks.

Oh, you were close.

But these belong to the Tayassuidae family (peccary), not Suidae family (pigs, hogs, boars).

These two are families of the Suina suborder though.

You have seen a common pig though, right?

Gotcha! Well, it seems like you have got the curiosity to make researches on your side then! x)

I'm not sure I have already seen any common pig to be fair... only eaten it.

Call it natural curiosity.

Oh, wow. I've been to farms quite a lot when I was a kid so I've seen plenty.

Natural curiosity... well, this is how we get to learn things as well!

Gotcha, this makes sense. I may have gone to farms as a kid, but unfortunately I don't have much memory from my childhood...

I still have so many things to comment on ;A;
They are interesting - look kind of fluffy
I can't tell how big or small they are as animals but from this picture I am guessing small. That looks like a tree branch in the background right?

I would have pet one but apparently they bite.
They are about the size of a middle-sized dog. Meaning they are about 1/3 short of a common pig.

That's pretty tiny!! I wouldn't want one as a pet though .3.
you and your animal stealing ... I see you there - I'm watching you

My cousin has a pet pig about this size btw. Gets along well with his gfs dog (that is smaller than the pig already).
They play together etc. So cute!

Aww that does sound cute!   I am sure a teacup pig is different than one of these guys though.
