Wow, that's amazing! It's so difficult to take decent photos of insects, let alone awesome ones like this. Great job!

On a related note, I think ladybugs were either named after a particular person or just after the name Ladybird in general...don't remember the exact story behind their name, but their full name is--or used to be, anyway--Ladybird beetles, with an uppercase L. They're adorable little things either way.

They call them Ladybirds here - I don't know why because they bare such little resemblance to birds or even ladies

Oh I know you, thats what I have to call them around the British folk and at uni and such, I know, and how do you think the men ones feel when they get called lady, I don't think people thought it through.
