I have been playing Assassins Creed for a while now. I've gotten back into it since I bought Assassin's Creed II. Now I still have yet to actually play Assassin's Creed II, but I wanted to actually finish Assassin's Creed before starting two, even though I know it wouldn't make a difference. It just helps my OCD.
I wanted to try a different style with this one. I really did want it to be realistic. I had a reference for Altair and the bird, but I pretty much colored and shaded all on my own. I would lay down the colors, the whites and blues or whatever, and I would take the smudge tool and just smear all the colors until they looked decent enough. I LOVE the way Altair came out, (other than his boots, but I was getting tired by that point). I even love the eagle. I used a bald eagle as the reference, but I know they aren't bald eagles in the game.
I hate that some of the blue seeped into the wings. I wanted there to be a glow around the bird, not an entire coloration on the bird. Thing is, it doesn't show up like that in photoshop itself, just when I save it and view it anywhere else. So I'm not sure what to do about it.

But other than that, I really like this picture. <3
