Description IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS PRECIOUS:
DOOOWNLOAD FOR A HUMONGO-FILE. YOU CAN SEE SOME NICE DETAILS THAT WAY.

Okay, so some of you already know that I'm in International Baccalaureate. In my English teacher's classroom, she has a bunch of drawings taped up inside her closet, and an IB kid from the year before me had drawn his IB classmates in fantasy garb. One of my classmates asked me if I would do something like that for our class, and I said: "Heh, NO." 'cause there are 53 kids in our class (there was way less in the class before ours). But we can see how that turned out.

2 AND A HALF WEEKS, 53 NEW DESIGNS. NEVER AGAIN.

It was a pain in the butt to do, but fun, too. At least I only had to worry about designing clothes and not faces, since they're based on real people. Some of them really look like the person they're based on, but I messed up on some. One of them ended up looking like Mugen from Samurai Champloo. XD But yeah, I'm there, too, but I don't really look like my avatar ([link] ).

There's some fun stuff to look for in this one. I've incorporated all the card suits (diamonds is the most common), and a lot of them are wearing gold medallions, and there's some other stuff, too.

What's ironic is that right after I finished this, about 6 of them changed their hair, so now it's not accurate anymore. XD

I made everyone in my class as superheroes for the yearbook. Never again. haha

(I'm in IB too... man, it's tough. One more reflection and evaluation and I might spit my teeth out.)

Oh man, how many kids were in your class?

I HATED all those stinkin evaluations and essays. XD IB did pay off in the end 'cause of all the credits though. Since my IB scores took care of a bunch of General Education classes I needed to take for college, I finished up the rest of the Gen Ed classes my first year and now this year I can just concentrate on art. : ) What year of IB are you? Are you having to plan for your EE yet?

Um.. luckily only about 25. But many times I'd show them the design and they'd say, OH I DON'T LIKE IT DO IT AGAIN. *facepalm*.

I'm in year 11, grade 10, sophomore year... however you want to put it XD I'm working on my PP now... It's an underwater photography thing. I've planned for my EE, (the double P and double E. classic IB lingo), of doing something along the lines of significant historical figures and their links to the occult much fun.
Did you do MYP, IB, PYP? And what was your EE on?

I just did IB during high school. Since the IB diploma program is just 2 years, at my school it was 4 years and ninth grade and tenth grade were "pre-IB" years to get us prepared for the real thing. When I did IB we didn't have a PP, what does it stand for? I did an English EE, I just did a long literary analysis of The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I figured an English paper would be the easiest to BS. XD I hate writing essays with a passion.

Personal Project. it's an MYP certificate thing. For example; I'm making an underwater photo series. Then you have to do a 4000 word report on it. It's like an EE plus actually making something. it sucksssssssssssssssssssss D:

Haha your EE sounds good XD was the book to your liking, though?

Oh man, that sounds really stressful! D: Good luck on that!

I actually did enjoy it, it was really interesting and the storytelling style was cool; it's like a series of journal entries done by the main characters. I usually don't really enjoy super-serious books like that, I only read it because I didn't know what book to do my EE on and my friends and English teacher recommended it. I'm glad I read it though.

Thanks for the luck... so far I'll need it, haha.

I'm glad you did! Man it would have sucked if you ended up hating it, though

Yeah, there were a bunch of books I had to read during IB English and I got bored to death by half of them. XD Luckily I enjoyed the other half. Some of the ones I liked were Their Eyes Were Watching God, In Praise of Shadows, and Snow Country.

No kiddinggggg Village By The Sea was the worst so far. And when I switched schools their Shakespeare system was exactly backwards to mine. I've done Twelfth Night twice and am about to do Macbeth for the second time. Now I don't mind the plays... but just studying them in-depth. TWICE. Torture.
But Macbeth will be okay. That's a friggin great play

I haven't ventured into those yet... in fact I don't know if each IB school has different books or whatt... But I'm definitely not taking english as a HL. Too many essays and too much reading for me. I love to read, but I'm ferociously picky, haha.

What was Their Eyes Were Watching God about? It sounds interesting.

I actually never had to read Village By the Sea. At my school I think we only had to read Romeo and Juliet and Othello for Shakespeare, unless I've forgotten some. We did a bunch of those ancient Roman/Greek epic poems and plays. We had to read the Odyssey in the original poem for homework during 9th grade, which was annoying because sometimes it's hard to understand it since the language is so old and we couldn't ask the teacher questions as we were reading it, but thankfully I read the novelized version and watched the movie in jr. high so I knew what was going on and didn't get too confused. XD

At my school we were required to take HL English and HL History (apparently because our IB organizer did really well in those subjects in college, or so I've heard). It was pretty annoying! It all worked out with the other classes I wanted to take though. But I am reaaaally not very good at history, so that class was awful. fffffff

Their Eyes Were Watching God is about the social status/norms of black people in the 1930's and how the main character, a black woman, is affected by those norms and how she is affected/opressed (both as a black person and as a woman) and how she overcomes that oppression. Haha, I'm not very good at summaries. It's pretty good though.

Man, My IB Classes don't even hit 30!

I'm lucky... but then again, being in IB is a way to tell the world... Damn... I'm freaking crazy.

lol, it is really ironic xD

oh, btw.. i'm going 2 b an IB student next year... so... ya... since u R an IB student.. could u tell me if it's really that hard, and if it's really that boring? and, like, if u really have a LOT of homework?
thank u so much (;

There is a lot of work to do (especially during junior and senior year) but you'll be fine on your assessments and IB exams as long as you pay attention during class and put at least some effort into your homework. It'll get really stressful at times, but all the work will teach you how to manage your time better during university. When I took IB, I found the classes to be kind of boring since I'm pretty much only interested in art (I'm an art major now) but I did all the work and I was able to pass all my IB exams and get my diploma. : ) And now I feel so much more relaxed!

I took:

SL Art
SL Math
SL Spanish
HL Biology
HL History
HL English

I didn't really want to take HL History, since history is one of my worse subjects, but our IB Coordinator made us take HL History and HL English. : /

Biology was fun for me 'cause I had an awesome teacher; he was really intelligent and had charisma. And he kept snakes and turtles and other animals in the classroom, and he would feed any cockroaches we found to his snapping turtle. XD

Well, I giggled.

But the harlequin one made me feel dirty. Well, both of them did, but the leotard one... oh god.

Is your arm a Hellsing reference?

I really liked quite a few of the girls' outfits.

FatHobbit In reply to xEinsatz [2009-05-19 15:03:54 +0000 UTC]

A good dirty or a bad dirty? XD The leotard one is actually my friend Scott (This one: [link] , I don't remember if you've met him or not)

It's actually not; I really need to catch up on Hellsing.

Thanks! They were fun to do.

Oh yeah, my last IB exam was yesterday. I'M FREEEEEEE!! And I got my yearbook (finally; they just came out yesterday, too) and graduation is at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena at 8:00PM on the 29th.

Oh yeah, and don't watch S. Darko. : |

Terrible, awful, unspeakable dirty.

I don't remember if I've met him or not either. I'm thinking 'not' then.

Who the hell would willingly go to see SDarko? Nooooope...

I did, darn my curiosity/boredom/masochistic tendencies. It wasn't too good, but I liked some of the shots they got with the camera.

XD That is ironic, I didn't even think about that. Except with Zombie-Dylan, haha.

Lots of the designs make me laugh (Dylan's and Scott's, for example). But the whole thing makes me smile and that's awesome because you brightened an otherwise boring and sort of disappointing day for me. Cheers!
