Great lighting, love the detail you put into the plants, animal anatomy.  Is there a story attached to this scene somewhere?

91 layers?! And I thought I was a layer whore LOL!! <3 But then again, look at the awesomeness that those layers provided.
I really like the look of the hunted creature. It almost looks like it could be a mount in it's own right at that size.

Eee, thank yous!!! I've actually done pictures with more layers than that haha, I think my largest file was around 125 or so. (I can't remember what picture that was though - maybe one of my layouts? I forget!) I'm very fond of layers XD they make fixing things so much easier! The hunted critter can be ridden actually but they're really skittish so they don't make the greatest mounts. Kind of like trying to ride an extremely spooky horse - not very comfortable. (Plus lots of predators eat them. Some species will leave horses alone.)

Oh my, I think that would just about crash my Photoshop, though I've never tried that many before xD It tends to get stuttery after a good number of layers >.<

Ohhhh, I see! That's a shame. I guess it would take raising one to actually use it as a mount. Might not be so skittish in that case That would be very neat if so Though it being a prime subject for predators is not a big plus xD Might not want to go camping with it!

Haha, yeah, derse don't make the best camping buddies. They're definitely less skittish when raised right from babyhood (I don't think you could even train them from wild adults actually...) but they're still super nervous. They're also extremely smart and can jump a lot higher than your average horse, so they're pretty hard to contain. (Very smart prey for a world of very smart predators.)

I really love the dramatic lighting, especially on the derse, and Eqaetz' legs lol. I followed your uploads on Tumblr for this and it was really neat how it all kind of comes together (I don't do digital stuff so it's like MAGIC to me lol). But I don't know how to comment on Tumblr so I couldn't say anything ;;

Is the bricket the little creature on the fallen tree?

Thank you! Haha, I'm getting pretty good at foreleg muscling now and leg shading. This for me is one of the easier methods, so I'm always happy when the light source is behind the character. ('cus all I have to do is cut out where I want my light areas to go. ) I don't really know how to comment on tumblr either! D: People post comments and I'm like NOES I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO REPLY BUT I WANTS TOOOOO. (I think Tumblr should fix that.) I pretty much end up faving everything there with the heart icon. If I like something you post it pretty much means "OMFG AWESOME." XD (Like those sketches you posted were wicked!)

And yesh! The bug is the bricket! XD I dorkily combined 'beetle' and 'cricket' thinking that it was some weird creepy looking visual combination of the two. I figured colonists would give dorky names like that. (Seeing as how they officially call all the planet's creepy insect-like crawlies 'bugs.' It's less hassle than calling things 'insects' because that confuses them with our insects.) I think 'bricket' is a better word combo than some of my other ones that I use so far - less obvious and kind of cool.
