Description stolen by the gypsies
you had your hold on me
life was circles and rings
colour fervour parades
on the bandwagon i rode and dangled my feet
as I watched our shadows pass
the tattered mosses of love
seven seasons of birth and death
we lapped at the nectar from the bluebells
and plucked the fruit from the Queen
solstice to solace
a peace beyond heaven
but a darkness came and your ghosts returned
pale thin cold
you reached for me no longer
you shared your bed with the past
making love to the what ifs and coulda beens
and i with pale eyes
looked down the path we
journeyed / painted
found the point where paths divided
and took my first steps
alone

Oh wow...I relate to this so much...the emotion here, the utter joy fading slowly through seasons of change to pain and loss. This is so well described, painted with images that linger like echoes in my mind...

"seven seasons of birth and death
we lapped at the nectar from the bluebells
and plucked the fruit from the Queen
solstice to solace
a peace beyond heaven"

All the seasons were summer then.

one of the best poems i've read here, fae, and i do not say this lightly.

nothing more needs to be said.

one thing to be done, move mouse to imminent click of a favorite thus designated.

Very powerful, great use of metaphors of the love you two shared, sorry it you had to seperate and move on alone

I know what it's like to deal with ghost returning especially in a relationship. Was almost the end of mine. Glad in the end we were able to keep walking together instead of taking our separate ways. Beautiful poem fae. Well deserved DD.

Painted so well with words, and filled juicy bits!

"as I watched our shadows pass
the tattered mosses of love
seven seasons of birth and death "

Great transitional points.. and emotionally driven.

Congrats on the DD...

it's so bittersweet....
the description of the part of the journey together is beautiful....

and when the "ghosts returned"... it's heartbreaking

this line........oh, it hit me hard....

you shared your bed with the past

wonderfully written

I'm don't feel very qualified to judge poetry and I can't really relate to this. Congrats on the DD though.

Oh, sad, but beautifully written. I read it more than once so that I could enjoy once more the parade, the "hold on me". I guess there is something to be said for loving what one gets in life, even if the "hold" is for just one moment.
