I have always loved books and storytelling. These days I hope to be a writer, myself.

While it's a hard read, I enjoy "Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan because of how much emphasis is put on written word. Being a Christian helps. However, reading is given almost mystical prominence in the book because Bunyan, himself, did not learn how to read until late into his life. Meanwhile, his writing style is certainly that of someone had not quite grasped the finer points of the written word like Chaucer, Shakespeare or Milton. And, needless to say, I esteem those three for helping to form the English language and writing styles we use today.
