Description
This one's pretty heavy, having 161 layers
This piece was mainly a draft, but when occured that a buddy of mine liked it, I decided to submit it. So, here you are.

thlayli, the original pic was supposed to be around 250k, but deviant somehow f00ked it up. There's a link to the 250k version in the description.
Hehheh, 800k is sure high quality, but I think that you really can't see a difference between 400k and 800k. I myself try to optimize the file sizes, so that all the details & colors show up correctly, but that the file size won't become extremely large.

Very nice design. I assume there was a lot of detailed tweaking done because of the number of layers. Nice work, it's refined and cool. It could use some more detail though. Just something other than tentacles.
Btw, you've saved it as a 77k jpg. I save most of my work (which is lower resolution than this) at 800k+. Sure it's nice to have pics load fast, but don't destroy the quality of the image.

Well, actually there isn't an easier way to do that effect, but I made the mistake not to combine all the layers in the folders.

Heh... thanks for the criticism. Backgrounds - that's my worst side, I guess. I'm just so terribly bad in creating "neat" backgrounds that fit in nicely with the image, don't overcome it etc.
Maybe someone could give me a link to a BG tutorial?

the layrs and everything work together well, plus the form and color are amazing, one complaint being the composition. if i'd seen this in a thumb, i wouldn't have clicked on it becauseit's just an object. you need to put it into something dynamic

I like the bright colors and the way it contrasts the black background. It's a very unusual, but very intriguing design. It must have taken some time, since it is 161 layers. I think that's a bit much for layers, but whatever work. It looks a little unfinished though. If you need something to add to it, maybe create some similar designs to surroud it or put in a weird background. Looks great otherwise.

I like this. I have done stuff similar to this before and never done it this will good job man. And making those tentacles take time so im sure this overall piece did.

Yeah, it does have 161 layers
Background (black): 1
4 Tentacle folders: 10 layers each
3 Blur folders / each tentacle folder, 12 blur folders: 10 layers each
That makes the background + 160 layers in folders.
I know, I could have combined them, but at this stage, I can't even get the damn file open: "scratch disks full".
