[Updated comment, 1/15/07] Sigh, okay. After two long years, I still like this picture, but not the crazy comment I wrote for it, so here's an edit.This was originally a simple art trade with ~u-gin ... but I got carried away >_>;. The following is from my old comment... I sound pretty crazy, but I think that's funny. [/update]
This was originally a 11x14" sketch that I pumped out at a ridiculous hour in the night and then perfected over a weekend (I had no computer during that weekend, boohoo). Inking and coloring done in Painter... and then Painter started killing my computer so I had to switch to Photoshop for some sPeCIaL eFfECtz (like the glow of the electrical sparks... first time attempting something like that X_X). The days all sorta melted together, so I do not know--nor do I WANT to know--how long this thing took me. I DO know that it involved 52 layers, though!!111 [Retro smashes own record of 28]
And after all that hard work... I realize that I haven't eaten. Unngh.

the light coming from Ed's arm, their expressions, the cleanliness of the picture, that background... and the heavy emotion expressed in it..... *having trouble finding emotes for this* It just hits you! T^T

Amazing work, just so lovely I'm not even sure what to say, except I wish I could favorite a piece over and over again 
They look so hansom here, and a bit older. I love the elements of the gate and the transmutation circle and the edges of the piece. The designs and how Al's armor is disintergrating really expresses how the armor is a sensationless shell which his soul is residing in, and it reveals a feeling of vulnerability. Just wonderful work I love it.

This is an amazing Composition of the Elric Brothers, i think the best i've seen yet! It's realistic yet anime style, and it shows such deep emotion and great colouring!
I especially like the colouring of Ed's Automail, and the angle and detail of Al's Hand! Absolutly Fantastic!

the lightning makes me focus on them both rather than just Ed. The whole part armor, part human thing with Al would completely focus on him if not for the lightning. i have always been told you want a person to look at the whole picture, not just one spot, so i really like it and think its just perfect.

I couldn't possibly convey how flippin' awesome I think this is. The level of detail incorporated is ridiculous! My favorite part is most definitely Al as a whole. He's flawless, if you ask me. The look, the reach, the terror, you've got it all down. Ed's expression bothers me slightly, and I think I've got the bothersome area narrowed down to his mouth. Besides that, though, I think you've captured the true underlying emotions from the series perfectly. The horrors these boys have faced, all compiled into one little piece of fanart. Thank you for making this.

Betsuri. That song KILLS me everytime I listen to it. Episode 25 ... I bawled like a baby, especially when they played that song. Betsuri is good inspiration when it comes to writing or drawing, or just doing anything creative. Gimme five more minutes ... I have to go scroll back up and just gawk at this piece because ... seriously, it is amazing, and I'm in awe. The sheer terror in Al's face; the horror in Ed's. Beautiful. If you were doing, say ... works and selling them, like this; I'd so buy it, and frame it. O__O

This is just fucking incredible. This is the finest example of FMA art I think I've ever seen. Just...wow. You just went and blew my mind. Give it back, hor. Well. No. Don't. I just want to stare. Holy shit. I scrolled up and it's still awesome. It's kicking ass and taking names. That is just so incredible. My mind is boggling. Boggeling? Is boggled? Whatever. Anyway, you get the jyst--gyst? Fuck. Anyway, you get it.
I think what impresses me most are their eyes, noses and their mouths. Instead of short-changing these features into just a few lines....you've taken the time to make them real. You've used them as tools to give the presentation and emotion that goes along with fear, desperation and anger.
Al is reaching for something we can't see. And is Ed fighting it or is it destroying both of them? I don't know but it's awesomely intriguing to wonder. This picture just makes me keep scrolling up to look at it while I write this at the bottom of the page. I come to Al's desperate face and Ed's fury.
You've made them into real people, just with a picture. In FMA--one reason I like it so much is that Ed is a complex character. In some ways, he's more grown up than anyone around him and in others, he's still a hurt child. Sometimes he acts cool and collected and other times he's cocky and joking--to cover up his insecurity, guilt, responsibility and fears. His reactions to what happens around him were always more genuine than other heroes I've seen. How he responds towards death and destruction and his aversion to killing was always way more believable.
This just, I think, captured the bond of two brothers perfectly. Their need to help one another...and just how they need each other. They suffer together and come through it together.
See, i've ended up rambling. This picture just really impressed me. I'll definetly be looking through the rest of your gallery.

i really like how you drew al in this pick, it shows despair, and it has a perfect emotion. i like this pic a lot, but ed's face kidna bother s me, i dont know why, but its probably cuz you did this in an original style (instead of trying to make it look just like the anime) which is a good thing
