This is my current character in a campaign for Dungeons and Dragons we're running in 4.0.

Roux has an interesting background. She has lived her entire life and was born half-elven. She had milky white skin and fiery red hair. However, the seal her father placed on her at birth has recently been lifted. She found out her father was not elven, as her mother had thought, but a fire efreet (master of disguise) who lured her mother into a "brief" courtship.

To lift a curse on her half-brother, she allowed the only person who could break the curse do what he wanted with her since he sensed something buried deep within her. So the highest priest of Asmodeus did what any evil man would do and broke her guise revealing a fire genasi (unfortunately for Roux this was through a severe raping by a fire efreet) So she kissed her virginity goodbye and the priest was very disappointed she didn't have demonic heritage. Lets just say her brother was pretty pissed at the trade. She's a little embarrassed with what she looks like now, so she usually wears bandages to cover herself.

So now Roux is a fire/lightning genasi (due to a feat switch) and is still a wizard. I know genasi cannot dual manifest unless they take the paragon path, however the DM and I have it worked out that her skin is more of a plum color (lightning genasi) and her hair is fiery (fire genasi) instead of the red skin or crystal "hair".
