Floran is a good person at heart and believes that there’s a wrong and right as well as good and bad people. That’s not to say there’s no gray zones for him, because he’s certainly aware that those exist, but he makes conscious decisions to aid those he find good over those he find bad.
Meeting strangers and having to get to know new people isn’t a problem for Floran. However, it takes a good while for him to make proper friends since he’s rather untrusting and can even be so with people he’s known long enough for the term ‘acquaintances’ to no longer suffice. When finally having won his trust, his loyalty goes far. This also means that getting under his skin and getting him to take stuff personally is hard to accomplish if not already being close to him. He may seem to distance himself from others, but he is very much able to put himself in their shoes and have sympathy.
He’s a private and discreet person and prefers to take a few extra steps to accomplish his goals instead of walking into the limelight. Whatever information he finds the least bit unimportant to the situation he keeps close to the vest. He isn’t one to like being the center of a large group’s attention and is therefore not much of a leader. He has nothing against taking orders, but in order to follow them he needs to believe them to be more right than wrong or be faithful of the person giving them.
He’s developed a keen sense of observation and likes to dig into details and turn things around in his head. Despite being a thinker he’ll voice his mind and opinion if he finds it relevant or if he has questions or worries regarding something. But before opening his mouth he’ll make sure that his words are aimed at the right person. He attempts to keep things rational and fair, and if a brawl is beginning to brew he’ll be the evasive one and back out and maybe find another way around the issue. He’s not afraid of failing unless someone else is dependant on his success.
Floran isn’t particularly hung up on religion. He believes, but he doesn’t pray regularly or repent what sins he may have committed in the eyes of the church. He has a bit of a two-sided relationship with the church, seeing as it was both those who took away his sister, but at the same time matter a great deal to his sister. The only times he does religiously repent is when his sister tells him to. He does however say a brief prayer of protected travelling when slaying an animal.

History:
Early Life
Floran, born the younger of a pair of twins, was raised with his sister in Delverne by their elven mother. The mother had gotten pregnant by a human merchant, a traveller the twins knew next to nothing of as their mother didn’t like to speak much of him. Other than her self-destructive and undying love for him, that is. Growing up as half-elves in a highly religious elven society led to an abundance of mockery and discrimination thrust upon them in many different ways. Their own mother and her grief of her lost love wasn’t much comfort, as she also shamelessly made the twins aware of their low rank in hierarchy, when it came to blood purity. Having born children out of wedlock had pulled the elven mother down from high society, and the blame for that fell on the children.
Becoming A Ranger
When his sister, Erin, was scouted by the church and taken from them at 10 years old Floran fled his stifling and now rather lonesome situation by searching out the river, woods and mountains that surrounded the elven city, spending every moment he could spare in the nature. His mother let him, she even occasionally liked the peace of not having him around (this well known to the boy). For the first few years he just fooled around, slowly and unknowingly teaching himself a few scouting tricks as he got to know the wooded areas and started making a living off his hunting when he reached his late teenage years. Soon before his 14th birthday he came upon a sole man, Olin, living in in the forest between Delverne and Radiant Peaks. The two didn’t get along at first but the elderly man felt empathy for the kid, like an abandoned puppy, and took Floran in and taught him the ways of a scout, resulting in Floran evolving into a qualified ranger over the years.
Moosa & the Flight Regiment
About the same time Floran met the man who became his teacher, he found a lost and wounded Peryton cub roaming the eastern woods. The young boy took in the winged creature and with Olin’s help he nurtured it back to health. From then on he grew up with the winged Peryton by his side and they grew a close bond. Spending years with the creature of the skies that he named Moosa, Floran became a proficient flyer and was able to join the Miras Legion at 18 and quickly move over to the Kingdom's Flight Regiment, finally feeling like he was doing something that actually mattered (after years of being told he wouldn’t amount to anything by his mother). At this time he naturally moved to Miras to live and work.
Condition
Floran experienced his first seizure at age 5. Since then he’s been having an occasional simple partial seizure (consciousness not impaired), mainly affecting his motor skills but on rare occasions he’s had visual episodes as well (he has never had a grand mal seizure or lost conciousness). The regularity of the seizures was highest in his teens and early 20’s and the attacks has since then decreased in both numbers and severity. Being completely conscious and aware during a seizure Floran keeps it a habit to remove himself from whatever situation he might be in when there are others directly around him. Due to this and the decreasing occurrence has he been able to keep his condition known to only those where absolutely necessary and get into the army.
Yearly Summaries
Family
• Mother; Pandoria Thoregar, Light Elf (214 years old - Healer)
A bumpy road. When younger Floran harbored a lot of anger towards his mother, feeling she priced their reputation amongst the elves over him and Erin. These feelings has faded over time into indifference. The two of them still have an occasional clash.
• Twin Sister; Eirianwen Thoregar, Half-elf (35 years old - Templar)
Most important person to Floran. He looks very much up to her, her kindness, her strength. He'd do practically anything for her.
• ?; Naevys Aeraviel , Light Elf (180 years old - Templar)
The closest thing to a proper mother figure Floran has ever had, since being introduced at a young age by his sister. Holds her and her opinion very highly. Though not related by blood, he very much considers her family.
Additional info:
• Physique/Appearance - Being half of Light Elvish blood, Floran has inherited the race's slim and delicate physique and youthful features. He isn’t particularly muscular and his muscle strength isn't really anything, especially when compared to his endurance, agility and sharp reflexes. Because of that, in close up fighting his best bet by far is dodging and escaping, even though he’s been taught self-defence by his Paladin sister.
• Myers-Briggs - ISTP "the craftsman"
• Weapon(s) - Floran is primarily a long distance archer, but he's also very handy with knives (which he usually carries three or four of at any given time).
