Black and white charcoal pencils on gray charcoal paper.Time: 20 hour approx.
Actual size: 18X24"
This is a gray thoroughbred portrait taken from an old stud advertisement in The BloodHorse magazine (from an early 90's issue). The photograph was so tiny, it was hard to capture the detail but I think I managed it in the end. Hope you all like it.

Oh, jeesh sorry.. its Horseeden.com, or HEE, and on it you can create different avatars for your horses, so I was wondering if I could use this for one of my Grey horses on their... I will leave everything on it, and credit you for it all.

Oh my!
I really like this composition with the horseβs head and neck filling the page. My only gripe is that the hard cutoff makes him look very unnatural...kindβa shocking.
Your proportions look close.
You have a great range of values with plenty of contrast here.
It's a very good piece of work!
