I just started getting into these two. Last year, I used to dislike the pairing because I thought the pie thing was ridiculous, and I went into the game thinking I was going to love them as a couple, and found their supports underwhelming, so that made me hold a grudge against the ship for awhile. After I redid their supports recently, I found the pies weren't really the focus of their supports, but rather they were more about Sumia worrying over Chrom pushing himself too hard, and Chrom appreciating everything Sumia does. I actually really enjoy the ship now, and the supports, which I wasn't fond of a year ago, are actually pretty cute. They're such a great ship 
I have seen the Chapter 11 proposal, and I really love it. It really shows just how much Chrom and Sumia care for each other. .

I went into the game not knowing anything about the characters or even the Fire Emblem series as a whole (Awakening is my first FE game), so I didn't really have any expectations. I'm kindof a sucker for the first ships I see, so I was pretty much sold on the pairing after Maribelle mentioned that Sumia had been watching for Chrom's return all day during training at the beginning of Chapter 1, and when Sumia saved Chrom in Chapter 3, although it helped that their supports were cute on top of that. Plus, Cynthia looks amazing with blue hair, and she and Lucina are really cute as sisters!

I got the game a year or so after it came out, so I already knew about a lot of the characters thanks to Tumblr, so I did have some preconceived notions regarding a lot of them. I'm more of the kind of person who likes to see how characters interact with one another before I pair them together. I always liked the moment when Maribelle mentioned Sumia had been waiting for Chrom to return, and I always thought it was cute how Chrom looked at Sumia during the "Lovebirds" cutscene, and now I have done a 180 on their supports, when I first saw them.
Chrom!Cynthia is super cute, and her and Lucina make cute sisters. Plus, the whole "Pega-Pony Princess" thing is adorable and hilarious.
I'm actually working on a Chrom/Sumia pic as I am typing this. All I have to do now is color and scan. :3

I like seeing how characters interact, too, but if I've already decided to pair them up I can usually find something I like in their supports.
Oh, yes, how could I forget to mention the pega-pony princess thing? It's just too cute. And I love that it's completely unique to Chrom and Cynthia; none of her other potential fathers have anything like it!

I'm like that sometimes myself, but I had a thing where I would save before seeing any S-supports, so I didn't decide who to pair up until I saw all of the supports.
Even back when I didn't ship Chrom and Sumia, I always liked the "Pega-pony princess" thing (mostly because I can't really picture Chrom saying it, so it's kind of hilarious that he does
