Back sometime during October and September of last year, I did a few drawings of buildings in downtown Toronto, just to kind of "bone up" on my drawing skills when it comes to backgrounds, that way when i do, draw backgrounds from my head they would look more realistic.What ended up happening was that i started with observation, but ended up making up my own buildings from my head rather than copying it from what i was seeing.
well...i guess it sort of shows.
The good part about this was that all of this was done freehand with only a pen and a sharpie, no erasing, no white out.
Even I have to admit that, thats not bad at all.

For straight pen that's pretty impressive. I like the wya the buildings look overall. I mean I can't blame ya for making up buildings, at a point it's not fun to just straight copy.

I quite like the loose look of all these lines. Sometimes freehanded stuff looks the best.

This would be so much better if you would just break down and used a ruler. It just looks 'stylized' now.
