One of my three rats, Snuitje, posing for the camera.Snuitje is a female dumbo rat with part Himalayan and part (likely) amber markings.
Because of her ruby eyes I can't expose her to bright light or flashlight. She doesn't have pigment in her eyes to filter bright light.
This causes several issues, poor vision and poor depth perception being two of them. More information on rat vision here: www.ratbehavior.org/RatVision.…
Because Snuitje came from a shelter I don't know her exact birthdate. Going by her size and behaviour I would say she is about 16 months old now.
I chose her birthday to be on the same day as her Gotcha Day, May 12th.
