Depends. In battle, they only faint, not die. Unless if some event occurs like in some Pokemon movies.

Sure. May and Manaphy grew a strong connection with each other, but the Pokemon Ranger said that they must be separated before Manaphy doesn't want to leave to fulfill it's destiny as Prince of the Sea. May thought Manaphy left her because she ignored her too much, but it was actually when May's bandana flew off by the wind and Manaphy got it back. When they arrived at the Sea temple, they reunited. At first, she was crying due to sadness, but it was actually tears of joy.

thank you. i saw this momment in the movie. its so touching this was the bes and the most sadness moment in the movies. I wanna scream for crying, that makes me o sad . But the movies was great especially special Manaphy's force(?)/ ability when ash was trying to get crystal in right place. I want to survive that adventure like this Of course with May, MAx and Brock and Ash
