Gilraen, daughter of Dirhael's final letter to her son, Aragorn, before her passing. T.A. 3007

I used to make a lot of things like this. In-universe artifacts from Middle-earth. This one is near and dear to my heart. The idea was that this is something that Aragorn keeps on him, most likely pressed in the one odd book or something.

The text is from a fic that I wrote a million years ago. I did some editing for this copy. The writing is all mine, as is the elvish at the end, which reads:

"Namarie, hen nin, estel nin, calan nin. Cuinar erin ah meleth o calan. Namarie, ion nin, an athan i rind o i ardhon, im innas garo sidh.

Meleth uir, naneth nin,
Gilraen"

Sindarin. Meaning (roughly):

"Farewell, my child, my hope, my light. Live on with love and light. Farewell, my son, for beyond the circles of the world, I have found peace.

Love eternally, your mother,
Gilraen"
