Another painting of the Gelt River in Cumbria, England.Stone has been quarried from the exposed rockfaces of Gelt Woods since Roman times and this
continued into the 18th and 19th Centuries. The town of Brampton is largely built from it.
Now softened by mosses and lichens these bold sculptured shapes are still fascinating.
