Description MEET KYOTO
male
approximately 3 years old
Rescued from high-kill pound in Georgia
originally stray
became a part of my family on July 21st, 2012!

not yet trained except for 'sit'
super energetic/cant sit still for very long/ADHD/SQUIRREL

we're not 100% sure what he is, but we can guess that he is a Shiba Inu or Jindo or Basenji dog. however, his ear are also pretty large in proportion to his face, so he could be part shepherd. my mom wanted a german shepherd, but i think this was the closest the adoption center had

still, he is absolutely adorbs and now he is mine.

thanks! he's super energetic and curious, but also extremely cautious. my other dog has claimed complete control over him, and he is incredibly scared of her. they'll just have to get used to eachother. he hasn't been superbly trained by who-ever his previous owners were, but the fact that he was trained at all means that he DID have previous owners. he recognizes things like a towel we laid down for him and toys meant for dogs. he has not yet chewed on things such as wires or shoes, which surprised me because i feel like he still has the mind of a puppy. he is the sweetest doggy in the world, always wanting to play and explore, but his lack of training left in some traits i'll have to correct, such as jumping up on people and biting (not a hard bite at all, but it's still a bite.) and he pees everywhere, but luckily most of it is done outside. he's learning the ways of my house reallly fast, too, so i dont feel he'll have any issues with training.

but i know he is still nervous, despite warming up to us, because he doesnt accept much of the food we give him. my mom keeps trying to feed him human food, which he rejects because it's unfamiliar to him as something safe to eat. so far he'll only take dry dog food (which is okay with me, since i wont have to cook for this one )

i do believe i just summed up Kyoto's first day at home. probly too much, but whateverrrr

Glad to hear he got some training. I'm also glad to hear that he's not the Alpha male in relation to your other dog, as males tend to get pretty territorial...
Has he attempted to run away if you leave the door open?

Wait, so he's not tempted by human food? He won't sit down, look at you and whine if you're eating food by yourself?! You don't know how lucky you are...

No, it's fine, I'm glad to hear it. I expect many other stories about your dog!

nope, he's the underdog...
yes he has.

well, NOW he does, because my mom is stupid.

he still needs real training. he constantly jumps on people and barks at everything.
basically, he lacks restraint.

i've already got a number of scratches on my arms from him jumping and biting, but he still thinks it's playing :/

Ugh, you had it all!

So what you're saying is that you plan to train a dog 3+ years old with no restraint who only thinks about playing and food...
If you'd like you can have mine too for just a bit!

dear god no he'd EAT Lucy alive
something weird about him is that he hates small children and other small things that move.
he's fine with bigger people like teens and adults but he cant be around children. he definitely wouldn't have made a great family dog to people with babies or cats.

He'd eat Lucy?! Open up your schedual, I'm dropping her off!

My aunt has a dog that hates any other dog and adult males, while as her other dog hated stairs for as long as she can remember. It's the smallest things puppies do that determine their behavior later on.

Actually that's kinda perfect for you. After all, you are allergic to cats.
