Try a sound effects keychain for the sound, they made some with weird sci if noises that would fit, could probably find one for under a fiver on the ebays.

Creative. Did anyone else notice that Matt Smith's sonic screwdriver has a sugar shaker on it? So cool.

This is really cool, I've been thinking of doing something like this myself! Would you care to share schematics for how you did the electronics?

Thanks! I'm afraid I'm not advanced enough to anything requiring electronic schematics! Not on my own, anyways. The light at the end is a small battery operated light that's meant for sticking into flower bouquets at weddings and things like that. They come in different colors, and are fairly bright for their size. It sits behind a piece of hardware with a faceted teardrop bead fitted into it. The switch is then glued to the little pull tab on the light, and I cut a slot in the tube for it to come through. Does that make sense? If not, I'll draw you out a diagram really quick.
Here's a picture of the light piece, this one had the skin taken off so I could see what was inside. [link]

I'm happy you think it's cool enough to want one! It isn't that hard to make your own, I don't really have any advanced wiring skills or anything. I just used a tube I had that would fit over my mini screwdriver, a small light (the kind that you can stick down in flower arrangements? they're battery operated) some pieces of hardware and cheap jewelry, and I glued it all together. The top stays on by a rod in the center that fits into the magnetic end of the screwdriver.

Thanks! I don't think I could duplicate it to sell, but I'm glad you like it that much!

I'm glad you like it! It really isn't that hard to make one of your own, you just need a cylinder-type object for a base, some glue, a small light and decorative stuff.

I'm glad you like it! I don't think it's something I could reproduce easily, since the parts were all things I already had and I don't know where I would get them if I had to find them again.
