So, Cecil and Carlos are a couple.
Cecil is actually a result of his mom cheating on\leaving a mr. Palmero for two different men and have a child from each of them, but still had to give them the surname Palmero although it is'nt her maiden name.
Cecil has an halfsister, who then become an halfbrother, and had a daughter with a woman, who then divorced Cecil's halfbrother, and got with another guy who had a daughter about the same age as Cecil's niece.
The stepfather of Cecil's niece thinks of himself as Cecil's stepbrother-in-law, and Cecil hates it, because Steve's actually the husband of Cecil's ex-halfsister-in-law, right? Delphine is'nt step sister to Cecil, since Delphine's parents are married to each other, and Cecil's aren't married to anyone.
Haven't watched NV, but I think this is weird enough to make sense. Although with how Nightvale is, it'd make more sense if Palmero was Sohvi's maiden name which she gave to both sons. So she had either two or three boyfriends and never took their names. Then again maybe she just liked that surname best.
