Yes, the book that everyone's parents bought just as a pathetic excuse for not buying them that brand new transformers toy was made into an episode. As much as I have a lot of fond memories of The Berenstain Bears books, this episode isn't any better for the book version. As far as I'm concerned, "galloping greedy gimmies" translates to panhandling, just replace spare change with junk.Mama says "we're only here to buy groceries, that's all" and then immediately afterwards the cubs bug them for junk. Brother is at least old enough to be left at the house, so leave the cubs home if that's a problem. And this is just a "me" thing but I liked how much more emotion there was in the cubs and everyone else. When the cubs panhandle Papa for the cat toys, their behavior was bad, but the salesman's goading was enough to force Papa to give in. Donating toys is not going to solve their gimmies either. Tell them to make some money or give them some allowance money. At the core of this, ground them from ever going to the grocery store.
The show itself is perfectly fine, but it has its' share of weak episodes, and to me, this is one of them.
