Arc I Cover - Read From Beginning -Β NextHoly shit!!! I updated before the deadline!!! I honestly didn't think I'd be on time for this one, but like a couple days ago I was coloring and then suddenly I had finished lighting/effects??? I still don't know how tbh. Welcome to Arc I everbody!!! We got a sick new logo!!!
Anyway! I'm pretty proud of this one, all things considered. people keep telling me my pages are "immersive" so I'm trying to lean into that with my paneling ^^ As for the art itself, I really feel like my lighting/effects have come a long way, and while I'm a bit lacking in technical skills, I'm doing my best and I think I'm learning a bit. ALSO A NEW TEAMMATE APPEARS!
I actually caught Budd in Sprout Tower (hence his first appearance) and honestly I really love Rattata? They're little biting friends. (Although that did cause me some trouble with my dupes clause,,,,, Rattata are everywhere). I hope y'all like him!

The new logo is beautiful! 4 hours well spent
So many things happening here... Baxer going along, Budd joining the team, Nikolai has to deal with children... I have the feeling that since he evolved, he's making more contacts than at the beginning. I find that the dialogues you choose for him suit his character very well

Sooooo I really love the pacing so far - Nikolai and Baxter got a lot of screentime to get to know each other, which is a solid foundation for the story. With the prospect that all the future team mates will get the same treatment, I'm very excited to meet them! Budd is a joy already lmao
And Taylor! It was so nice that that he and Nikolai are good friends, but then he got roped into something really bad. Heart = broken :CCC
Also it was fun to watch your art style develop while reading this, it's super good and fluid now! Love the expressions and everyone's great hair : D

I'm glad you like my pacing! I'm always worried i'm going too slow because I treat it kinda like a book in terms of character interactions,,, I can't imagine I'll stop doing that tho so it's good to hear you'll be enjoying it!! And I hope you'll like how Taylor is dealt with going forward, I know i'm really excited to show it ; )

In terms of being enjoyable to read, the pace is fantastic for sure! I'm also optimistic that the story won't take forever to finish, since you've been very productive so far. But I'm here forever anyways

I think you have improved,too! I love that your expressions have, well, become more expressive. Your paneling also really lends itself well to the digital medium and scrolling. Your lighting/shading have so far been pretty spot on, as well! The only thing I'd be careful about is switching scenes. Like the panels between Budd wanting to go with Team Nikolai, and the 2 days later thing should have a larger black border between the two to show the transition and the shift in time. I got that time had passed due to Nikolai's statement, but it'd be helpful to have more of a visual cue.
The hell is that? That's cameos Nikolai. I love cameos!
Also I'm really liking this dynamic between Budd and Nikolai. Budd is super persistent and Nikolai has no idea how to handle him. Haha.

Azalea Town, here we come-- and, cameo central!! Thank you so much for cameoing Eclipse!! And man, that last panel's super ominous. The perspective you use for staging it helps with the mood, but I think the pacing of the panels before also help.
