Lovely shot. Done on manual I guess? or did you buy an AF-S 50mm F/1.4?

Cause you were using a Nikon D5000.
The lower Nikons (D40/D40x/D60/D3000/D3100/D5000) suck cause they don't have the AF motor; that's why it's so cheap in the first place! It's sad buyers don't do their homework and suffer in the long run.
Personally though, that's why I advocate Sony. Not only is the AF motor built into the camera, but so is SteadyShot (like VR/IS) so you don't need to spend so much on lenses.

True, but when you do documentation and events (like me) - you don't have the time to bother focusing on manual. Especially when the slightest error in focus gives a big effect in the photo.
