Description There was cool breeze in the air, it reminded (F/n) of the roses she used plant and take care of at her orphanage she was in. She arrived in the Underground a few days ago. The occurrence was still startling and strange for her, she was minding no one's business while walking across one of the most rarest place in the current earth she lived on, a field of yellow buttercup flowers. It was a sight for sore eyes, and not to mention their scent was calming. Even though they were a bit poisonous, (F/n) had no problems with them at all. Technically, this wasn’t the first time she landed in the Underground, (F/n) accidently came to this place ten years ago, when she was just a small child. (F/n) had met a lot of good individuals there, they were all friendly and nice to her, she wanted to stay there forever, but, she couldn't...and when she left She missed her home, sure, it wasn't the greatest place...but, at least she felt safe there, even if it was a little bit. But, in the Underground, it was not safe at all, just yesterday, she encountered a insane goat monster who tried to skin her alive with a clever, she would have died if it wasn't for her quite wits and physical speed. And before that day, (F/n) was almost unsuspectedly bludgeoned by a tall skeleton by the name of ‘Papyrus’ she escaped just in time from his wrath with the help of an anthropomorphic flower named ‘Flowey’. The nice buttercup helped guide (F/n) to the seemingly safer parts of the Underground. He had warned her that she cannot going to the places called ‘Snowdin, Temmie Village, The Waterfall, The Garbage Dump,’ and worst of all a house belonging to two vicious human hunting brothers. It was very stressful for (F/n) to deal with. (F/n) arrived at a secluded building, where Flowey had promised to meet her there, he said that he wanted to give her something. Taking a quiet step inside the abandoned building, (F/n) noticed that there were large crates stacked in almost every corner, it was kind of weird. The girl wondered what could possibly be in all those sizable crates. Even though Flowey said that nobody goes to this place anymore, (F/n) started to examine the entire place, she looked around the small opened rooms, luckily...the small lamps in the rooms were helping her see better...which also means, someone is still taking care of the place...and that ‘someone’ must be Flowey, right? As the girl examined every room, she found a table with a map and note on it. She went towards the items and grabbed them, she started with the note.

Howdy! It’s me your friend Flowey. I’m sorry because I can’t make it today. Toriel and Asgore are searching everywhere in the Underground for me ‘cause they know I’m helping you. I need to hide for awhile, until they at least get bored of trying to find me. I left a map of the entire Underground on the table for you. There’s also something that you could protect yourself with it’s also on the table. Bye for now~Your friend, Flowey

(F/n) smiled when she finished reading the note from her new friend, it was a pretty thoughtful thing he did for her. However, (F/n) saw no sign of weapon on the table, where he said it would be. She moved every piece of garbage away from the table, but saw nothing. (F/n) was so fixated on finding it, that she even ignored her senses of a dark aura behind her.

“Looking for this, kiddo?” A male voice spoke to her. (F/n) froze right where she stood, eyes wide with shock. The girl slowly turned her head around to see which monster she was going to fall victim to, because a third time in such a situation isn’t so lucky. It was the skeleton known as Sans standing before her with a knife in hand. “Ya know, kid...something as little as this won’t affect us monsters, you should know that, newcomer…” He said to her, while leaning against a concrete beam.

(F/n) gathered enough courage, and spoke with a calm voice. “If you want to kill me, Sans...just make it quick. I am not a strong enough of a person to get tortured, like what Toriel tried to do to me...But, when you're going to kill me, let me turn around…I don't want to see the face of a friend who I used to know killing me…” (F/n) said to the short skeleton as she prepared to turn around.

“What the hell are you talkin’ about, kiddo?” Sans asked her with a raised eyebrow and getting off of the beam.

“Everyone who I met tries to kill me…and it’s no surprise that you're going to kill me as well…” (F/n) said as she looked at him.

Sans stared at her for a moment before laughing boisterously at the girl. “Nah, I pass. I don't wanna waste my time on someone weak like you.” The skeleton said to the girl while looking at her petite figure. Even though the girl was taller than him by several inches, he still had an upper hand due to his abilities.

The girl glanced at him with an expression that read sadness. “Are you sure you don’t want to kill me? I mean why did you follow me all the way from Snowdin to here just to tell me that you're not interested in murdering me?” Although it was in a curious manner, it kind of made Sans surprised.

Sans let out a small chuckle. “I followed you? I think you're the one who's following me.” He said with a teeth showing grin.

“What do you mean? When I came here, I searched everywhere if anyone was here. And isn't this place abandoned? Nobody comes here anymore.” She said, denying his false accusation.

“Ha! I was right behind you, in the shadows.” Sans laughed. “Also, is that what the stupid flower said? He’s wrong ya know, I come here all the time just to chill out.” The skeleton’s eye sockets went half-lidded.

“He’s not a ‘stupid’ flower! He’s my only friend!” (F/n) yelled defensively at Sans.

Sans’ eyes widened. Since when was she so defensive about flowers? Guess people do change a lot within a decade. “That weak dumbass is your friend? Wow, I should’ve known that a weakling like you would befriend other weaklings like him.” He disparaged her, still laughing.

It took (F/n) all her might not to give him a clever remark, so she stood there...with a poker-face. Not a word came from her mouth. Until, Sans went close enough to her that she could feel his breath hit against her face. “So, if you don’t want to kill me...and I of course know that you're on my side. But, can you help find me somewhere safer to stay? For old time's sake?” She asked him.

This was a slightly random of the girl to ask of him. However, he felt that he should repay her for all the favors she did for him during the past. Sans looked at her innocent eyes for a split second, placing his fingers on his chin and contemplating whether he should risk himself for her or not. He shrugged his shoulder and thought...Why not? “Sure, kiddo. But, don’t expect me to help you if you get caught by my bro.” He warned her.

(F/n) nodded obediently. She really wondered what happened during all those years since she was gone.

“Good. Now follow me, kiddo. Unless, you change your mind, cause it is gonna be a long trip.” Sans told her, the red dots in his sockets glowed brighter.

(F/n) nodded again, following right behind the skeleton as they walked out of the warehouse. After a minute or two of walking, (F/n) couldn’t contain her curiosity anymore, she was almost dying to know what happened to the Underground. “Sans.” She called, catching the skeleton’s attention. “Can I ask you what happened in the past decade?” She asked him.

Sans exhaled. “Nothing much really...everyone just kills the first human they encounter.” He answered her. However, (F/n) sensed that he was hiding something from her, and she will keep pursuing the true reason of why what happened is happening.

“Yeah, and why is that exactly?” The girl questioned the slightly nervous skeleton.

“Welp...A lot of things were going on you were...it’s a long thing to get into right now, and I’m too tired to talk about all that crap…” Sans excused himself, it seemed as though he just didn’t want to let her know the truth, the girl judged his face, it had a mixture of tiredness and boringness, along with what seemed to be a tad hint of guilt? Pain? Or both? (F/n) wasn’t that good of a facial reader like other people. However...it was a bit weird for Sans make those kinds of facial expression, not because he’s a skeleton and had no face muscles whatsoever, but, because, he cared to not tell her the truth? Maybe.

Well...can you at least tell me what’s up with your teeth and eyes? Or, eye sockets and new outfit?” (F/n) said with a apprehensive tone in her voice, she was a bit worried if she would push him to much with questions, but, she just couldn’t hold herself, she was too curious. Of all the time she knew Sans, he would never wear such things, nevertheless wear an outfit made out of animal fur, that kind of reminded her of the annoying doge.

“Ummm, ‘cause I like it? It matches with the situation that I live in.” He answered. “I sharpened my teeth on some scraper I brought, and these clothes were made by my bro.” Looking ahead, Sans continued his journey to the haven for his long-time friend, it was just going to be a few minutes left till they reach the safe haven.

“Then...what happened to your eyes?” She asked, it was a bit amazing how his eyes changed from brilliant blue to a fiery crimson, LITERALLY fiery eyes.

"It just happened...probably something to do with the SOUL. I don't know. Just stop asking me questions, they're getting annoying, and repetitive. Stop. It." He warned (F/n), his eyes glowing a brighter crimson.

(F/n) raised her hands up in defense. Sans got scary when he was mad, (F/n) knew that no matter their relationship they have forged in the past, it didn't matter how close they were before, those memories that were made when they were together was all but a blur. Sans had never ever gotten mad at her when she did something that would piss anyone off, he would always laugh and pat her head gently. It was saddening, really...to see someone whom you cared and respect turn into a true monster after ten years. Ten years was a long time, but it was nothing compared to the loneliness (F/n) felt during the time. Even though she was already pushing the safe boundaries from letting Sans kill her, she decided to ask only one more question. "I have one more of a question to ask you..." (F/n) said.

Sans smiled. "Knock yourself out, kiddo." He said.

"Why are you helping me?" The confused girl asked. Sans paused his foot pace and turned around to look at her with a bemused expression. "I mean why are you doing this? You'll get nothing in return, your brother hunts humans, you hunt humans...heck, everyone hunts humans down here...so, why didn't you just leave me alone there? Why are you helping me?" She asked, almost in a demanding way.

"Woah, woah...easy there with the freakin' questions, kiddo." Sans told her, shoving his skeletal arms in a jokingly motion. It took for what seems to be a few minutes before he answered the question with a tiresome voice. "I guess it's to return one of the many favors you did for me, kiddo. I dunno..." He said shrugging shoulders.

(F/n) smiled a little, reminiscing about her past with Sans, it used to be so much, them spending their days together, she miss it that way. (F/n) regretted ever leaving the Underground in the first place, perhaps things would've been a bit different, who knows...As they walked a few more minutes, they had made it to the safe haven. It was a medium-sized cabin made out of what seemed to be moldy wood, there was a small crystal clear pond ion front of the house. (F/n) had recognized this place anywhere, it was the very same cabin that her and Sans used to hang out in. Expect, this was also the very last place she had seen him ten years ago just before her departure. She couldn't believe that Sans still remembers places like this. "Well, make yourself comfortable." Sans said getting the door opened and letting (F/n) walk in. The inside of the cabin was illuminated by the flames of the fireplace and candles. There were still the four windows that they used to look out from, Yes, this was a great safe house indeed.
