Description An 'Inspired by Nature' piece, from 's suggestion: Bismuth.

"Bismuth is a brittle metal with a white, silver-pink hue, often occurring in its native form, with an iridescent oxide tarnish showing many colors from yellow to blue."

This is probably the most detailed IBN piece I've done so far, and the most colorful. It was also one of the most challenging. Still, it was very fun to do. ^_^

As usual, feel free to shout out any thoughts/ideas you might have on what sort of character this is, or what to name him/her/it (I didn't have a specific gender in mind while drawing this one, to be honest).

Also, if you have any suggestions for future IBN designs, go ahead and post them in my journal: [link]

I'd been doing "IBN" or "Inspired By Nature" character designs, and a friend of mine had suggested I try to design a character inspired by bismuth. Challenge accepted, and this was the result. ^_^ I wanted to mix up the hard geometric shapes with flowing shapes. And play with the colors.

This is so detailed.
Pure beauty.
Texture is magnificent.
But crown take colours-they're so bright yet so real.

This is kinda what I imagine Bismuth to look like when she is introduced in Steven Universe. That gem in Lion's mane.

Very pretty picture, I love when sleeves are done like that.

this piece turned out great, must of been a pain to deal with so many colors. lines and highlights.

You could call it Itzel (Rainbow lady). From the looks of it, it could pass as some sort of ancient, ancient deity, or some form of psychic/telekinetic being with the flowing pieces.

It was kind of a pain, but it was fun to see it all come together, in the end.

I will be honest and say it was tedious. Figuring out all the color blending and shape/line placements and multicolored highlights...I do like how it turned out, though.

Fufufu~ we both knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park.

When I tried to design a character around it, I had him with a bismuth bracelet that would sort'a grow into a giant arm gauntlet.

I could have done an armor piece, or set, but instead this happened. Heh.
