Description When the United Colonies decided to start taking back the wasteland, they protected and extended their reach with outposts. Used as hard points in key strategic areas, the outposts severed as front line defenses against the wilds of the waste. The outposts were also used to sever as quick attack/response staging and planning areas. Loaded up with enough guns, any mutant or raider has to think twice before they try to take one on.

Here is my mostly finished 1/35 outpost for a diorama. Built up from a verlinden plaster building, bashed details, custom figures and bits bin details. Hand painted with enamels and weathered with acrylics. I say mostly done because it still needs more posters (which I will add once I get an operational printer) fat top coat and pastels but I'll wait till it's on the diorama base for those. Feel like after being sick that I am starting to stall out on this, so it's time to call it done and move on.
Anyways this project took around 3 weeks, and while not as great as I hoped I am satisfied with it. Before I get it on a base and work on the overall diorama, I think I will be taking a break from the diorama project and do a couple quick, easy and fun kitbahses.

As always questions, comments and suggestions welcome!

Hey man, looks great, way to put in the work. Minor critique with the best of intentions, the second floor those guys are standing on doesn't look supported (maybe an improvised column) Hope you feel better. Get well soon bud (cracking the whip

thanks!

you know i was thinking the same thing when i built it, i just couldn't figure it out when i built it(as i was weird about how it was assembled) maybe when i get back to it i can figure out a way to add a beam.

thanks, already feeling much better and getting back to work on stuff.

Very cool diorama!

I think the number of posters is good as it is. You don't want it to get too cluttered. I am interested in how it will look on its base.

thank you, hopefully it will look good based.

i know, i really gotta have more females. i have been hoarding a few stock figures(as they are not super common in this scale), but haven't used them yet.

Good stuff! I like the way you based the outpost on a ruined building.

Here are two minor gripes I have:
-the pulley could be mounted on the other side of the window so they can use it more easily from the balcony (yeah this one is minor).
-the turret... It looks to big and to sci-fi. How the hell did they get it up there? Aren't they worried about the roof collapsing under its weight? Also they need a way to get to it from the watchtower.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to wetcorps [2014-02-12 18:37:01 +0000 UTC]

thank yuo very much!

yea i had wondered about the pulley placement and allmost put it on the inside like you said. really the only reason its out front, is its covering a seem i never fixed lol maybe when i get back to this project, i could teak it and put something else out front.

yea i wondered if it was too big, a friend who saw it in person even said those remarks. i almost didn't put it on(and probably could still remove it) but in the end i was like why not lol. it is a bit much and wayyyy over the top. ill have to really think on it, maybe build a smaller more sane auto turret.

AWESOME work. Didn't even expect, this would be THAT cool

Though i have a question - where is the turret control?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to Sielent-Brat [2014-02-12 18:33:48 +0000 UTC]

lol thanks alot friend!

there is a control on it(i had thought about adding wires to the downstaris but never got around to it) it might be hard to see but its in the back of the turret.

Sielent-Brat In reply to enc86 [2014-02-12 22:30:39 +0000 UTC]

You meen, it's manualy controled, not automatic?

Ok then

enc86 In reply to Sielent-Brat [2014-02-13 11:47:09 +0000 UTC]

i kinda figured its an auto, just its panel would be on it. might have to put more thought into it and add something.....

Very nice! Β And you got stuff done! I'm close haha Are you going to add some terrain around it? torn up street and sand maybe? The details are just begging for this to continue on... Then again thats how Β 100 sq ft dioramas get started isn't it? Β lolΒ

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to meadowhawk-designs [2014-02-12 16:57:44 +0000 UTC]

thanks!

yea i plan on putting it on a base and adding a bit more. lol i have a box of stuff for that but i need a break first. lol that is indeed how you get a 100sq project.

meadowhawk-designs In reply to enc86 [2014-02-12 18:33:22 +0000 UTC]

Sweet a 100sq project in the making! haha. I'm experiencing this problem, first it was a skyrim sword, then a sword mount now I'm thinking it would look good in a full replica of the house... Β  lol

But a break is good to have now and then.

enc86 In reply to meadowhawk-designs [2014-02-12 19:44:59 +0000 UTC]

lol yea now that would be a diorama!

lol good to know i am not the only one that comes up with bigger and bigger plans as i go along.

yea i think it will be good. i plan on doing a few fun bashes then back to the diorama.

Yea I have trouble reigning in the ideas sometimes. Β I've been thinking over this breezehome idea long enough for it to get dangerous. Β And I was just given the idea of adding a taxidermied mudcrab to mount on the wall...Β

Speaking of, looking forward to seeing how the 100sqft diorama comes about after your break

lol thats kinda why i gotta give myself time limits. i know some say give the project all the time it needs, but i i did that, i would never get anything finished.

lol i might have to scale those plans down a bit XD
