I do think the blackness at the top kind of oppresses the overall feel of the shot, I'd rather not have it there at all.

Great shot, I want more--literally; I want more of the panorama to the right, and I want the horizon to be straightened vs. the bottom of the image. And rotating it slightly right would make him seem to lean in a bit more, which would make the overall image a bit warmer, I think.

I'm a bit puzzled by the absolute blackness at the top--was that as captured, or painted in? It doesn't look 'natural' to me, but the sky can certainly do lots of strange things.

Compositionally, in addition to the desire I have for a panorama, I think I'd like it a bit better if there were a bit more sky behind him; he's kind of backed into the corner as it is.

I may be sounding pretty negative here, but I love the shot. Otherwise I wouldn't be commenting at all.

thanks phil, its comment like these that i enjoy most here at D.A. its extremely constructive.. i probably overdid my cropping bit.. though the blackness, i cant do anything about it.. it was about to rain that afternoon, and the cloud moved too fast. though i agree that i shouldve rotated the horizon below

thanks again for the AWESOME comment
