USAGE: Sawyer can perform two kinds of transformations, which take different amounts of effort.
Sawyer changes her species, retaining her own size/body shape/face shape/etc, just as another species. This requires less effort. She'll take on all of the species' traits and abilities, but won't be able to learn moves. It takes some time to get used to, but once she's practiced a form for a long amount of time she can hold it near indefinitely (save for sleeping). This is the case with her Pumpkaboo form; She's been practicing it for years so now she can stay as one all the time. Were she to try a different species, she wouldn't be used to the form, and wouldn't be able to hold it as long without getting drained. Once she tries to 'edit' herself, for example changing her body shape by trying to be taller, the form becomes 'unfamiliar' and begins to exhaust her. The exceptions to this are changing her physical sex (Because Ditto is physically sexless, her body doesn't consider a male body any more 'unfamiliar' than female) and changing between shiny/not shiny (color differences require minimal effort compared to shape).

As such, she's frequently lying and throwing herself out of her comfort zone to reach that ideal persona. Even her species is part of it; She hides her true species as a Ditto because it doesn't meet her standards. Sawyer lies almost compulsively, which is not good considering she's... not that good at lying. She talks big, doesn't know when to shut her mouth, and tends to ramble when nervous, digging herself in deeper. She'll do anything to preserve her identity though, so if you call her out on a bluff you can expect her to go all out in trying to keep up her act. She's just as impulsive with actions as she is with words and tends to get into trouble because of that.

  For all her acting, Sawyer is a nervous wreck, a crybaby, and a coward. She's extremely easy to intimidate and fears most people or situations that are new to her, only pushing herself into them to look bolder than she is. She places a lot of value in the opinions of other people, and kindness/flattery is one of the fastest ways to win her over.

The young Ditto moved through the system, spending time in different homes for the first portion of her childhood. She was a wallflower and a crybaby, easily frightened and extremely shy. Worse than that, she was unecessarily difficult with just about everything. Even as a little kid, she was quite the loner. She had a hard time getting close to temporary families at home, and was no stranger to being teased in school. Sawyer tended to busy herself with making up stories or drawing and writing alone. She'd always hesitated to toy with her abilities as a Ditto, fearful that it would make her a bigger target for being picked on.

Sawyer was 8 years old when she was taken in by a young woman, an aspiring author named Florence Sykes. Despite her frighteningly tall presence as an extra large Gourgeist, Florence's patient, laidback nature did wonders in getting through to the little girl. Sawyer took to her surprisingly quickly, practically never leaving her side as soon as she got home from school (and frequently hiding behind her when she could). She'd finally really opened up to someone, which was a great improvement for her on its own. Florence adopted her as a permanent resident of her little home as soon as she could. Despite Sawyer's adoration of her mother, as she was encouraged to be herself, she seemed to become even more difficult to handle. She would easily be inspired by stories and act rashly, getting into trouble for no reason other than "it seemed cool."

Still, Sawyer's inability to make friends continued to be an issue. Her shy and sensitive nature hadn't decreased in the slightest, continuously making school stressful for her; Especially when it came to education regarding moves and battle. The first time she'd successfully used Transform was when she'd copied a classmate as a defense mechanism in the middle of a panicked argument, much to their discomfort and her horror. The process of reverting back didn't look pretty either, and only made Sawyer more horribly self conscious about her species. She didn't want anything to do with her abilities as a Pokemon. She hated it; She was goopy and ugly and all her powers did was gross people out! She even convinced herself that her species could've been the reason her birth parents didn't want her. Florence worried for her, eventually trying desperately to convince her to practice her abilities now and then; She didn't need to push herself too far, but Florence was certain that she could come to terms and be more comfortable with herself if she just saw what she was capable of. Sawyer was reluctant, but agreed.

Sure enough, she proved herself a natural once she honestly tried to transform properly. She couldn't do it for very long, but she quickly got the hang of taking on anything she saw in front of her. Despite the short time limit, Sawyer was amazed with herself for once. She could look in the mirror and actually see something she wanted to see... Heck, she was really amazed that she hadn't thought about this earlier. If she didn't like herself she could just be something else.

So what did she want to be? Well, cool of course. Dark, brooding, scary... Pumpkaboo! I mean, okay, it wasn't that scary, but it was a ghost and it was cool! And she could even look more like her mom... She would make herself a shiny Pumpkaboo, and it'd be perfect! She built up her new form and practiced as often as she could, holding her form for as long as she could while she was at home. She wasn't going to show anyone else until she had it just right, and then she'd show everyone how cool she was.

  Finally, by the time she started 7th grade, she got her chance. Florence was moving the little family to a nice spot in Lumiose, meaning Sawyer had a chance to start over at a brand new school. By now she could hold her form as a Pumpkaboo for just about 8 hours- long enough to last through the school day. Sure she'd be quite tired by the time she got home, but it would be worth it! Finally in a body that she could be somewhat comfortable in, Sawyer actually felt a little confident for once. She didn't have to put up with people being rude to her, she wasn't some loser blob anymore! (Sure she'd still cry in the bathroom if someone said that to her, but nobody here knew what she really was.) Although her social skills needed a bit of work, she was at least closer to making friends than she thought she'd ever been. In time, Sawyer became so adept at staying a Pumpkaboo that she almost never turned back to Ditto. Florence was admittedly a little concerned with the development, as it wasn't really what she had in mind, but.. Sawyer seemed happy, so she could only hope it was a good change.

  And, boy did adolescence change her. The shy little Ditto seemed to be no more as Sawyer tried to build up her brave persona. She wouldn't back down from a challenge and wasn't afraid to tell you what she thought! M-mostly! The little pumpkin was the queen of going through rebellious phases, childish tantrums evolving into a true flair for drama. As she got more socially involved in high school, she found herself in the middle of friendships and enemies alike. Her obsession of all things fictional led her to the Internet, where she slowly built up an online presence and got more into writing. She always seemed to have something going on which, if nothing else, was better than staying in her room all day with a couple comic books and silence.

High school came and went, various obsessions and friendships stuck and didn't stick. After taking a gap year to work a part time job or two, Sawyer applied and was accepted to a local college to study journalism. All the while she was keeping an eye on the growing tension in the Kalos region regarding moves. Heck, were people really thinking about getting rid of them? The idea scared her more than anything- imagine if her using Transform actually became illegal. I-I mean, she was supposed to be all about rebelling and shit but... ACTUALLY BREAKING THE LAW? ALL OF THE TIME? Dear Arceus. Although she had quite the loud voice on her blog regarding the issue, it wasn't like there was much she could do about it in real life...

  At least, until an email from a group called the Argo Navis appeared. Move enthusiasts. What, were they some kinda... social justice league or something? Sawyer decided she could get behind that. It would be helpful to have a group on her side if push came to shove regarding all this move stuff, right? Maybe she could get out there and make herself useful after all...

Moves are a big part of identity and they can't take that away from us!! If we make the public see how much moves affect things like, individuality and stuff, they'll actually buy into it. And I mean, I'm pretty good with people, and I'd be good support so.. Um, well, if Naos is supposed to look cool and skilled and stuff then I was pretty much built for it. I can spread the cause and get some pride into Naos better than pretty much anyone.

Although her shapeshifting is pretty powerful, it gets draining for her to be in a form thats too much bigger or smaller than her natural self. Thus, her Pumpkin form is still 5 feet tall.
If she tries to turn into something based entirely on description, it usually ends up looking kinda wonky and deformed. These forms are kinda painful and can't be held very long.
Biologically sexless. The way she looks can fluctuate.
The consistency of her body varies. She's usually just smooth and soft to the touch, but she gets... goopier as she gets upset.
If she becomes extremely distressed, she has trouble holding her form and can begin to melt, even if she's transformed at the time. This is painful and usually stresses her out further...
Solidifies when she sleeps, becoming almost like stone.
