Medusa Capitol Cruiser:

Overview: The Medusa is more of a gunboat than a true cruiser. Packed to the brim with weapons the Medusa is designs to race into the enemy lines and pound the enemy at close range with broadsides from its massive rocket propelled cannon arrays and missile launchers. In this respect the Medusa was actually fitted with better armour so it could receive what it dished out. Unfortunately its armour is still lacking but its still fast and its armament more than makes up for it. The Medusa is typically escorted by 4 Hydras which provide valuable Tachyon arrow support along with the Medusas own Tachyon arrow, together this means the group can assail tough enemy formations and inflict maximum damage.

Armament: The Medusa is equipped and built around a single Tachyon Arrow, it also mounts 19 dual 480mm rocket assisted cannons for engaging enemy ships mostly in broadside positions. It also mounts 28 light rocket assisted cannons for additional armament. The Medusa is also equipped with 36 Missile launchers mounted on the sides capable of launching typical Capitol Nuclear munitions.

Rocket Assisted Cannons: These are very simple and old designs used when mankind first left earth. These cannons launch rocket assisted shells at medium velocities and are packed with high explosive to cause maximum damage to enemy craft. These weapons while outdated do high damage if impact occurs but due to the shells having not that fast speed and no targetting correction in flight Capitol uses them to blanket an area for maximum results. Though some of the more advanced versions have tracking.

Missile Launchers: Made to fire Capitols primary anti ship missile at extremely long ranges these weapons have limited supplies though most of the missile launchers in Capitols arsenal have been changed to fire thermo nuclear munitions. These while again outdated are not to be underestimated as damage is very servere.

Tachyon Arrow: Capitol and the Union both ventured into the realm of Tachyon weaponry, the Union deemed it while extremely powerful to be far too unstable and dangerous to be put to good use. Capitol on the other hand weaponised it and despite the horrific number of accidents in development the Tachyon Arrow was born. Firing a concetrated bolt of Tachyons these particles travel hundreds of times faster than light, meaning instantaneous contact. At those speeds as well the damage is outright severe and so 3 shots is enough to down the shields of most cruiser vessels. Thanks to the nature of space as well this weapon is potentially unlimited by range.

Defenses: The Medusa mounts around 6ft of reinforced titanium crystal armour plating capable of surviving limited impacts from kinetic and energy weapons. The Medusa as well is protected by a medium shield generator capable to taking many direct hits before it needs to recharge again.

Power plant: The Medusa runs on 8 Fission nuclear reactors for energy, any radioactive waste is either jetsoned into space or kept ready to launch onto enemy planets. These allow the Cruiser to be powered, though if they take a direct hit the ship will be destroyed.

Electronic capabilities: The Medusa is run by a outdated machine computer capable of aiding the crew in targetting and also control of the ship. The crew mainly have complete control. This means Capitol ships are easily hacked but alas the computers in their ships are so old and outdated most hacking programs or Ais cant virtually fit into their systems.

Crew: The Medusa has a crew of 500 men. All of which are human. Around 40 are commisars.

Attack craft: the Medusa mounts no hangar bays.

Speed and engines: the Medusa is equipped with an Nuclear ram drive and can reach speeds of up to 0.65 Light speed meaning it is an average cruiser. This is where it excels on taking down enemy formations at close range.
