They're temporary. Mehndi (henna) is this paste made from powdered henna plant and some oils and juices. My friend got this done while we were in Hyderabad because she was invited by one of her teachers to a wedding. Henna's used for decoration during celebrations, weddings being a big one. Her's is just a pretty design with a lotus connecting in the middle.
