First of all I love Shiv to death. He is my favorite Static villain and he is awesome.With that out of the way, I hated his character design in the show. It was awful. He had purple hair and a Chinese acrobat outfit. He was Korean (I think north but I could be completely wrong) for one. So I decided to make a Shiv that was more pleasing to look at.
I really wish they had done more with Shiv. Everything about him had so much potential. I mean he was the light metahuman with acrobatic powers who was in a team with the dark metahuman and there was no real conflict. That's sad.
Anyway, Shiv.

Every evil gang needs its comic relief, and that was the niche Shiv fell into. I do like your redesign of him; great job making him look fierce, and actually like some kind of threat. However, I kinda wish you had retained a little bit (or added a different type) of Asian influence in his costume. That was another thing that made him stand out from the rest of Ebon's gang, and in my opinion was part of his personality.

The acrobat outfit really irritated me. I assume it was to make sure that everyone noticed he was Asian. Poor Shiv.

Your redesign wins. Shiv actually looks like he's part of a dangerous metahuman gang now! The new hair looks awesome. The streaks are a nice stylish touch and don't make him look too much like an anime character. That's hard to do when you have purple hair.

Yes, purple hair and shojou uke's seemed to have had some type of Vegas wedding sometime in the early 90s. Though you can get aware with other shades. Darker shades can work but the rest just scream I'm a man-wife.
Anyway, I like this design. I always loved the costume design for the show outside of Richie's first season Arthur sweater and Shiv's acrobat outfit. So I wanted to make him pretty or at least more ghetto. Plus drawing Shiv with darker under eyes is fun. XD
