Update: Backstory!

Everyone who lives in Oakcrest knows Vallaera. When she was a child, she was everywhere you would want a child not to be. Growing up, she would tail her bigger brother, a renown thief from the country side. Her attempts to shadow him were particularly short-lived, however, often up till he turned a corner and completely vanished for days on end. Miraculously, she did manage to set a record of trailing her brother for roughly fifteen seconds. That fateful day she was left with but a single trace; a worn down gold piece he seemed to had misplaced. Her record remains unbeaten, but only because she has not spotted him since. His adept ability to cover his tracks considerably overshadowed her own, assuming she was actually capable of staying under his shadow. Regardless, she still desired to follow in his footsteps in becoming a masterful rogue.

Decades have passed without encounter of her brother, though judging from her carefree spirit (and obsessive need to climb tall trees), one could say she never aged at all. Many a time has that very same child-like nature won her friends since, yet also led her into undesirable scenarios. Only learning from the harsh consequences to follow, her recent gambling habits seemed to put her prior lifestyle to a halt. A simple slip of the hand had revealed multiple aces that were to pour out her sleeves—leaving both her and her tablemates dumbfounded—and many more later discovered hidden within the rest of her garb. One was even said to be rolled up under her now incredulous tongue. Within those fading moments of her integrity, she pulled off one last trick: shrinkingly she claimed a fortune on hand enough to reimburse her victims, tossing her entire earnings unto said victims, followed by crying, "TROLL! IN THE DUNGEON!"

Her attention deficit distraction bought her ample time to slip away; with change enough for a one way ticket into fugitivity. No longer welcome in her own village, she made an oath to repay the friends she had conned. All at once, a nostalgic feeling of cluelessness creeped up upon her. Without any idea as to where to go next, she clutched onto her only lead: a worn down gold piece; one belonging to the only elf that would trust her now.
