Here is my character Nācepiw with SachiiA 's character Phan Chau !

One day, when she was new to the city, Chau was wandering the Glory Gardens looking for new cooking ingredients. She came across the gardener Nācepiw, who was pleasantly surprised to have the opportunity to share her knowledge of the garden's edible plants. Of the recommended options, Chau picked out the chicory plant, and she was intrigued by Nācepiw's suggestion to flavour her cooking with maple sugar. She went home and made a sugared chicory flower, which she later brought back to Nācepiw to try. Nācepiw was so touched that one night soon afterwards, when they bumped into each other as Nācepiw prepared to leave the city limits, she encouraged Chau to come with her to Lake Sedna where an otter like her would love to swim around. Chau was too nervous to leave the city at night, so instead they went to the lake together during the daytime.

Here, you can see Chau has carefully removed her shoes, while Nācepiw has more carelessly strewn her moccasins and leggings across the beach. Nācepiw is happy to introduce another person to the joys of dipping your toes in a lake far from city walls. She looks about ready to jump into the lake herself, but Chau is taking things a little slower!

SachiiA , I hope you like this picture! It was so much fun to do. I'm not sure I've ever done such an ambitious background, but I'm really happy how it turned out. The shoes are based off some embroidered shoes that came up on Google when I tried searching for traditional Vietnamese shoes - I'm not sure how authentic they are, but I thought they would look so cute on Chau! I'm not entirely happy with how the scan represents this picture because it's one of my favourite illustrations I've ever drawn, so I may tinker with it later.
