When it exhaled, it was like death incarnate. The sound reverberated through its twisted lungs, poisoned with tubes and diodes and the unholy. It tilted its head, its hollow eye sockets staring at her, boring into her with a white hot fire.“Com… Commander,” it rasped again, its voice as broken and severe as if someone’s vocal chords had been pulled through shards of glass.
The irregular biotic glow flared around the crooked, wretched form as it lifted its hand… then it suddenly began to walk towards her.

This is simply amazing! it speaks to my love of the bionic and robotic goodness and yet the nasty, alien unknown! The macabre and the absolute terror in this piece is just awe inspiring.
