This is so cute ^^ I like the colors you used in his hair and how they appear again in his eyes.
I think you could work on using a greater range of values though, it will help create depth in the piece and help it not feel so flat. I saw that you use Paint Tool SAI, I'm not familiar with that myself but I'm sure there is probably a way to overlay a Black and White layer on the top of your piece, this will really help you see how close together your values are. I do this regularly to check values in my own work. Another tip would be to flip your canvas occasionally to spot any mistakes you may be overlooking, for example the right side of his face seems narrower than the left side after working on it for a bit your brain will get "comfortable" with the image and trick you into thinking it is right but if you flip it then it resets your perception of the image and you can spot mistakes like that. One last suggestion would be to vary the hardness (not sure if that is the term in SAI but that's what it's called in PS) of your brush, all of your edges look very soft and if you mix it up a bit with some hard edges it will help define the image even more.

Thanks so much for your advice! I actually have decided to start practicing with photoshop. All today I was practicing. I totally get what you meant about the value, I am still teaching myself colour theory and for sure get where you're coming from. Sometimes I'm so shy with colours. Ahhh yes, flipping it! Whenever I flip my drawings they look so weird, for sure! Gotta work on correcting that. Oh well, I'm still a beginner!

Personally I think that learning values should take priority over color when you're starting out. If you can achieve correct values then the picture will still look believable, even if the color is somewhat off. But if you do the reverse with good color but incorrect values then the picture wont work. But that's just my opinion
