Pencil drawing of Arundelle, the queen of Clovenfast, from the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson! Started as me messing around, trying to figure her out (which is why she's drawn from both front and side) and then the tree turned out too good not to polish. The quote is from The Warden and the Wolf King, book 4 of the Wingfeather Saga, and reads: "A thousand miracles a day, and yet I am still surprised by the Maker's good pleasure." It's one of my favorites

One of these days I will build up the courage to draw her as an actual cloven, but for now, she's in her human form with a tree (not even the right type of tree*) in the background.

*Probably. AP wasn't really really clear on that but my best guess is some kind of birch or beech.
