Description
"There it is!", A rather distressed sheep shouted. The sheep, Laraby, and his trusted stryx, Neerav, quickly pursued the troublesome creature. Laraby ran as fast as he could after it, Neerav a wing beat behind. As hard as the poor sheep tried, the brown mottled heathen stayed at least a yard ahead of him.
The livestock thief, a bird Laraby had never seen before, seemed to mock the two by purposely running slow. It enjoyed the chase they were giving and teased them as much as it possibly could. The lithe and agile animal it was knew very well it could easily escape and it flaunted that fact boldly. Turning its head to glance back with a glint of mischief in its eyes, it made the mistake of not looking where it was going.
The duo skid to a stop against the dew-ridden grass. Laraby tried his best to hold in a chuckle at the sight before them. The raptor had crashed into a fence and fell "ever so gracefully" over it. The feathery fiend squawked and flailed angrily as Neerav plucked the stolen chicken from its beak and pinned it beneath his talons.
Laraby jogged up to the two and took the dead chicken from his friend. He held it in his arms for a bit before looking back to the struggling stryx, "Serves you right, you bully."
The boy turned to return the livestock to the farmer, along with the thief, but Neerav tried to follow and lost grip on it. The other avian jumped to it's feet and dashed off. Laraby's mouth gaped in shock. He looked to the large bird, who in turn flapped its large wings and chased the creature once more. Laraby sprinted after the two, leaving behind the chicken.
