"Easy" is the word I like most, because I simply get mad over complicated insructions and descriptions. That would be really nice. I think your tips and ideas can be always useful for me.
Originally I had planned a group picture, and Leo was the first. But just when I came to the second character (which was Donnie), I realized I totally suck at that style. Even after the 10. try I couldn't draw his head properly. The style taken from the comic adaption for the last movie. I just "edited" the pic. I had already finished Leo, and since I didn't have the patience to start completely new, I thought I simply color it and upload it here. But somehow I feel bad about it, it's even not my own style.
I tried to just adapt the comic style, because my own shading had made the picture too confusing. Somehow I liked the simple lineart.
I wanted to make three more pictures, one for all of them, and then one for Splinter, too. Fact is, I simply don't have the time, because we're working on our house, then I have many Bellydance performances the next time, and need to practise. Then there's the honorary job in our local home for animals, my daily work in the hospital, and the rest of the time is to calm down, eat and sleep. Oh, I forgot the time I spent in my family doctor's practice the last two weeks. They checked me once more, to find out I have problems with my thyroid gland- more pills for me, yaaay
But I found a new photo from one of my bellydance shows. Maybe, if I find the time, I'll scan it and upload it later. It's one from three years back, but it's the best I have at the moment.

Ok, I'll find out how to make it easy.^^ Maybe I do a tutorial I mean I show how I do it...What kind of pict would you know about how to make? A comic...? some simplier line-coloured one...Look for a pict and tell, so I know what to start with.
I see why you found it confusing - I also don't like copying a style...except if that is the point (for example I tried to copy RC for Lady...was too difficult and I kinda gave up after the 3rd page...XD)
But I think YOUR Leo is much more...um...'warmer' then the original...I don'T like that style, too cold, too emotionless...I simply don't like, yet your one has feelings and nice face...X3
SO I think you should make more traditional madia (you can do it in short period of times, For example these comics I made recently-SpinSpin, LeoMeggy ones-were mainly drawn on buses, in bus stops while waiting for a bus, tram whatever, breaks during school, travelling in the city, you see?)
WOW, cool! YOu have another pict! *w*

What I'd mostly like to know is how you do those ones-->[link]
I chose this because you answered in Raaset gallery, so I didn't have to skip to anticia- confusing, right?
Well, even Konfuzius (Chinese Philosopher) said that you should copy the masters if you wanna become a master yourself. My only problem is that I didn't find a master I can copy without looking too much like him. Or with other words: If I decided to choose you as my "master" to copy, I'd soon fall into your style too much. That already happened with my TMNT style once- because actually it's not my style, it's a style Sarah created for me, I just took it from her. she's okay with it, because she is more interested in drawing her own characters meanwhile. But still I feel like I "stole" that style, and so I wanna get rid of it now.
Maybe you're right, and I'm not in the position for time taking art at the moment. Maybe I should indeed start with sketches again- if only my sketches weren't that scary. I'm not able to make "real" sketches, they always turn out like-->[link] This "sketch" took me over two hours.... I admire you for your skills to make even sketches look so "real".

Thanks! I simply tried to apply the style of the comic adaption for the movie a bit, changed some things, and this was the result. Somehow I think the picture looks a bit "dead", I really have to find a way for better coloring. But since I still don't know how to use more than two layers, it's very hard for me. I have to draw all the shades into the picture per hand, without any help from the layers....that's really hard, especially since my lineart always fades and I have to recolor them. It sucks! Maybe that's one reason why I still don't work with PS very much, it's simply a pain in the neck for me! I'd do a lot faster with real paint...but I don't have any paint at home anymore.

How does your line art fade? Do you have you line art layer over your colors or under? Because the line art won't be faded over if you have the line art layer over the color layer. Have you found any good tutorials that could help you with using PS easier? If not I could try and make one for you, but I don't know if it'd be the same as using the version PS you have since my version is CS3 Extended. . . But I could just try and stick to what I think your version would still have that mine does.

I don't have a lineart layer....
I'`m not sure if I told you already, but I got my PS 7.0 version from a friend's brother, without any descriptions or help from someone. When I first tried to use it, nothing worked. And still now, after almost half a year, I know almost nothing about this programme, since noone around me is interested in arts, except my best friend, but she doesn't know about PS, either.
I got a tutorial for layers from my best friend on DA, someone uploaded it for her. Only problem here: the descriptions are all in English, and the most important things aren't udnerstandable for me, neither for her- a problem when you are on pages that don't translate anything...We asked a German friend from another page, he's IT trainer, and maybe he can help. But honestly, I'm starting to get seriously annoyed over PS, whatever I wanna do with this programme, I have to trust my bit of knowledge- sometimes I think there's nothing else to do but throwing this disc far, far away, so I don't feel that frustrated anymore. I mean, 16 years old kids can use that %#@& programme, and I'm hardly able to get a backround layer behind my lineart...
You're so nice, for offering me help with a tutorial. But you surely have more than enough things to take care of, I don't want to bother you with my crappy problems. Maybe the tutorial translation will help. If not, I can still ask you for help. Thanks!

*poked* Umm, I don' think I could make an own comic, not at the moment. I was more thinking of a new series like I already made some time ago, in Dreamwave/2K3 style. This time I thought that I continue the series that I started with Leo, in the 2007 style. It's all I can do at the moment, because of no time and no ideas for own works. I'm still trying to get rid of the old style I used, I simply can't see it anymore. I wanna do something less muscle- fixated...

Maybe the two Meggy pics were a start into the right direction. And yesterday I sat down and made another picture of the 2007 series. Well, it's just a copy, but maybe the right way to find a "softer" style. Yours and anticia's style is a bit like what I hope to find, though I hope to be able to keep a bit of the "roughness". I think the best is if I just try, try, try.

I think the Mikey pics were a good start in the direction you are going. lol, your trying to get a "softer" style and I'm trying to get a "rougher" style. lol XD Well I hope we both succeed in it.

Yeah I guess he looked tough. .. . but not tough enough since people thought of it as sexy. lol XD
Heh heh, I'm sure we wouldn't end up doing the same style in the end though. . . though. . . that'd be strange yet interesting if we ended up as so. XD

yes, practice does usually lead to success, it just takes a lot of time and effort. but I doubt your half a lazy as some people I know *glares evilly at older brothers*, but I doubt it would hurt to try

No, "lazy" surely doesn't belong to my personality- as long as my health doesn't keep me away from the action, I'm always in the middle of everything.

well trust me, i'm not the most working person on the planet, but lazy really doesn't suit me, as in, I try to be a nice person, but I don't like to think of myself as a hypocrite, so I'll try not telling others to do something they don't want to just because I don't want to

Thanks a lo-lo-lo-lot hun!!! I know my mistakes, I see them right in the moment I open the picture- but I simply don't have the time to work on it anymore. I already put some other work down again that I wanted to finish this week- I surely won't be able to do all the stuff I want to...when I looked into my gallery, I saw I'll have my 4000 hits soon, but I won't make it to draw something for that, either- actually I sometimes ask myself why people do that at all.... wouldn't it be enough if they just say "thanks" in their journal??? And isn't it enough that they share their works with the ones who like it?
Nevermind, I'll try to get something ready, but seriously doubt that I will make it...
