I think we can safely say his thoughts are "It's good to be THE King!" (especially when you don't look very much like grandfather, indeed you speak sooth there Edriss!).

I think I read somewhere about Athelstan being blond and charming...Can't recall where now - possibly Cornwell's novels! or a fantastic encyclopaedia of British Monarchs I own - I figured either way after his grandfather he's goat be pretty pleased with what he achieved.

Athelstan, the first English King to be called Emperor of the English, and first man to take the title of Emperor in the British Isles since Constantine the Third. No one would be emperor, male or female in England until Victoria.
