Amnara is well-known for having romantic rendezvous with favoured subjects and one such encounter was with one of her temple priests, a water elemental dragon whom she laid an egg for. Although Amnara wanted to have a role in her daughter’s life, it was obvious that her mate might cause trouble if he knew, but she dared to stick around. She hatched her daughter before her mate Hydra charged into the temple and attacked her lover and the baby. The lover was killed and the baby had her eyes blinded by the beast’s poison before Amnara pushed him back into their realm. Annoyed that he’d blinded one of her children, the goddess of water took a gemstone from her body and placed it as a tear drop under each of her daughter’s eyes, giving her the ability to see in her mind and then Amnara left her for the other priests the raise.
The child was called Romantische and raised well and lovingly within the temple, but the incident of her birth and Hydra’s revenge had bothered Elctirnaba, after all it was in his kingdom and one of his joint temples with his annoying sister. From the moment her mother gave her the gems, Elctirnaba watched her grow with fascination. Romantische had a natural ability with water magic and she also had the ability to see spells, secrets and hidden beings thanks to the gems. She was training to be a priest, until Elctirnaba informed one of his favourite dragon servants about her and the potential she had to be a useful advisor or queen. When the male turned up she could see his intent and immediately, Romantische used her powers to wash him away before the priests to raise her insisted he was dangerous and she needed to leave.
Romantische was told to go to water and swim to Dragondera where she would be safe from anything… she was not sure how but they believed she would be safe. Indeed, when she got into the sea she was startled that no matter how long she swam for, tired she was or how she almost thought she’d faint and drown, she always found a huge turtle or whale willing to carry her, food to eat and easy seas. When she reached Dragondera she was led to the Chander River, a sacred river under Amnara’s care that meant she would be protected. Here she built a temple to her mother and to the moon, somehow the Chander Mountains that surrounded her region kept it safe from the chaos of Dragondera and dragons came to her seeking help. She kept the enemies at bay and was able to use her powers with water to keep the other evil beings at bay… though she was known for only speaking when it was important.
Curiously, although blind and guarded by her land’s beings like a precious and fragile gem, she was quite often out hunting fish and during this time she met a dragon who was also a casualty of a vicious lifestyle. This male was beautiful save for a feature others deemed unfortunate… his spine was slightly hunched and his back legs splayed out. He was an excellent swimmer, but he could not run and not hunt on land. He had been picked up and thrown in youth, but he had been adored and loved by his siblings and mother and protected and curiously, the pair fell for one another. They did not need to talk, they just swam with each other every day and soon, they found themselves pairing, but it would not be easy… Elctirnaba had shared knowledge of where she was to others and other worshippers of Amnara like Ekaitz as well as the monstrous Raslyn were still eager in owning her if not the gemstones under her eyes, so her life was never calm.

This is Romantische, I gave her this name after drawing a water elemental I thought was adorable on paper some eleven years ago and yet on paper she ended up looking more like an Oriental dragon which made me laugh somewhat. Still, she is a beautiful and interesting character although she’s not met much in the universe thus far.
