i noticed no one commented on this, but many people have favorite it, including me. let me try to leave a semi-intelligent comment after my series of click-wasters.
the strong contrast created by the red really emphasizes the subject, which is both humorous and slightly haunting. the expressive lines and shading around the shoulders/neck really give a feel of a fear or frustration. the face is so serious and arms and hat/face so silly and happy, it's nearly impossible to find the mood this piece really conveys. that's what i find very interesting about this.
